Ohio State DC Jim Knowles credits Cutcliffe for Buckeyes' ability to handle the Vols' tempo

Maybe we are an up-tempo team for the big 10?

I heard a stat that said Indiana averaged the most plays per game than anyone OSU has faced. Indiana's average was around 62 plays a game. Tennessee averages about 77 plays per game. I know there can be lots of factors in that average, but it's still a big difference. With our "tempo" and ability to spread the field, we definitely have some things different than any team Osu has faced.

I hope it translates to a win.
Go Vols!

An editor should have pulled the plug on this turd of an article the very moment it was pitched.
Why? A mark of a great coach is adapting to what an opponent does. Spurrier was great at that. If Heupel's scheme depends on inferior coaches not being able to scheme against their offense, he's reached his peak as a head coach. There's too much coaching talent to not have some bright minds not be able to shut us down....or at least put some stumbling blocks in our path. Sooner or later, every offense and defense gets figured out. You either have the coaching/player talent to overcome or you don't.

Tempo will not be an issue for this game. Tennessee has used very little tempo this year due to the QB's inexperience. He has trouble reading the defenses quickly like Hooker did.
He's gotten better as the year has progressed, which is why the offense has looked better. The 8 man coverages caused him zero problems towards the end of the season.

Day and company may have reached out to Kirby to see how they stop us. Not a rumor, just a possibility.
I don't think they are going to get much help from other teams in the field, who likely want to see us win this game. Though maybe they know something about Ohio State and Tennessee that I don't. Now Stoops and Venables I'm sure have been on a live telecast with Day all week.

No way. For starters, there is always a chance they could face each other. They're not helping each other under any circumstance. Day also strikes me as the type of guy who is too proud to seek advice.

Also Kirby would not help Day with anything. Conference members don’t do that and Kirby actually likes Heupel.

Own both lines
Play physical
Make them earn every inch

Not saying Tennessee is the toughest mentally but I think if Tennessee comes out and hits them in the mouth they fold up.

I mean they do have this thing called film. In football you can know exactly what's coming, but u still gotta stop it. I think everyone on the planet knows we're coming to run the ball, the real question is what can OSU do about it.
