Ohio State Fans Boo ESPNU - 10/13/2006 3:05:00 PM - Multichannel News

When Indiana visits college football’s No. 1 team, Ohio State, Saturday, Oct. 21, subscribers to several cable systems in Ohio will be shut out, AP reported.

The game will air only on ESPNU, and it won’t be available to subscribers to the ESPN GamePlan out-of-market-college football package, AP reported.

According to ESPN.com (espn.go.com), ABC will air Texas-Nebraska, ESPN will carry Wisconsin-Purdue and ESPN2 will present Illinois-Penn State.

“Every Bucks game needs to be televised every week," Buckeyes fan Steve Carpenter of suburban Dublin told The Columbus Dispatch. John Jewell of Grayson, Ky., added, “This is absolutely ridiculous that the No. 1 team in the country is being shown on ESPNU. This is a snub to all OSU fans.”

ESPNU vice president and general manager Burke Magnus responded to AP, “In this case, we think it's pretty justifiable which games ended up where. We're trying to serve a national audience. We understand the local furor, but the selection process is pretty standard.”

Do you want to know what the conspiracy is?

The parent company of Espn is Disney and Disney roots for the Miami Hurricanes.

This is Disney's way of revenge for the Miami loss to Ohio State in 2002.

Yes I am being serious!

This is quite popular right now!

ESPN ought to just go on strike one week just to prove a point.

I do not understand how it is not being carried on ESPN College Gameplan, though. Other than that, I could care less.

...and I was going to watch it too, but the free preview of ESPNU ran out on Dish Network, I suppose.
