Why didn't they fall after barely beating Northern Illinois? I know Auburn isn't that good, but they fell from 6th to something like 18th despite the fact that they won vs their cupcake opponent. It seems to me it was the same situation as with Osu. Any thoughts on the reasoning of the polls.

Auburn's drop also came after going into overtime against an FCS team.

Midwest sports writers are putting Ohio State at number one. Once they are at the top nothing short of a catastrophic loss will knock them down. Preseason rankings, I hate them. They are getting rewarded for dancing through a cupcake schedule. Mich. State better kick their butts.

Let's see, if we were the defending national champions, and we didn't lose but won close against a mid major that has been one of the better mid major programs over the last decade or so, would you complain if we didn't drop?

I think that the Ohio State win over N. Illinois was close enough to raise questions about their scheduling. Marshall beat them 52-23 last year. They don't really play a team that is competitive enough to see what they really have.
