"The revenue generated by alcohol sales will go toward two, new full-time Ohio State Police Department positions."

Translation: we gonna sell even moar beer so we can pay for moar policemen so they can round up all those idiots doing stupid crap because they drank so much beer! And not just on Saturdays, we gonna arrest the idiots all week long!

Love that part of the article. :)

It'll be interesting to se how it goes. We all know many already drink at games, maybe this makes the rowdy worse, or calms it since some won't be getting dog drunk before they enter. Just my thoughts.

I think they should do it in SEC stadiums too, but cut it off at the 4th qtr
8 bucks a beer at 100,000 thousand fans is almost a Million bucks and probably a little more every game

ragers at Neyland all day long, football game or not. Wear your orange and buy your beer here.

People sneak in airplane bottles of liquor all the time at Neyland. Stuff it in their crotch.

Given what the price of stadium beer will likely cost, you'll still see folks getting blitzed for pennies on the dollar before the game.

The revenue generated by alcohol sales will go toward two, new full-time Ohio State Police Department positions. According to the press release, these will be year-round positions, not just for game day security, and will come at an annual cost of about $300,000.

Just how much do they pay cops in Ohio?

Let me tell you two things. This is an example of how Ohio State works. They have banned you from bringing containers into the stadium at the same time except in the case of child care needs.

Secondly, I'm about as far from a police hater as you can get, I've done public service work in the past, but those cops in columbus have every reason in the world to be the biggest *******s on the planet, and they are. I wouldn't go near that place on game day. Savanna cops are more civil.

They don't have enough beer to make their women attractive.

I'm sorry but I would have to contradict that. Ohio is probably beer capital USA. I'm pretty worried about the O state/U.T. games they just agreed to. There is beer here guys. A LOT OF BEER. People drink. I mean beers that go over 12%. It is VERY AVAILABLE. The best beers in America. U.T. kids aren't used to this kind of beer drinking. O state campus is the kind of place you get drunk, real drunk, from drinking stuff you don't normally drink, then you get beat up by O state students, who love to fight and bully, and then you run into the cops and they will beat you up, for no reason other than they want to, And then you find yourself in jail with a 200$ ticket and you don't know why.

I went to a Tennessee game where they sold beer and it wasn't a problem. I may have missed something but I didn't see any trouble or any security activity.

OSU cops have to be *******s because the fans are just about the biggest dbags on the planet. Adding alcohol to the mix will only make things worse. But hey, they will make money, and that's what really counts in this day and age.

Again, they do not have enough beer to make their women attractive.

You guys don't know the half of it. In the early 90's I lived on that campus. I wasn't even a student there. I was working there. Every time they lost a game every one would lock themselves in their houses because they knew what was coming. Riots, burning things, cars turned over. Then the cops would show up. Full riot gear. Shields and tear gas. If you were out of your house you would get maced. Adult, student, whoever. Deserve it or not. Your house would be filled with tear gas.... Gawd it was a **** hole.. I got constantly harassed by police for stupid **** like jay walking. Looking suspicious walking home late etc.

I think you might be able to sue them for the harmful, lasting effects of that gas...
