This game has gotten interesting. 21-16 Ohio St.... This QB for Ohio State better be glad he has great receivers like Harrison Jr. to bail him out.

Why did Schiano go for 4 and 2 on his 16 yard line with 4 minutes remaining? Glad he is not coaching UT.
You , like many vol fans, don't like Schiano, but what he has done in a very short time on his 2nd return is really miraculous. That is a rock solid defense worthy of being in the top ten, and the offense has been better than previous years.... I wouldn't be surprised if they go 8-4 this year. Good coach.

Whether I like Schiano or not has nothing to do with the question about the decision making.

It is 4th & 2 on the Rutgers 16. He had at least two timeouts remaining and may have had three (I don't recall) with four minutes remaining and trailing by 12.

Punt. Use the defense you are so high on and the timeouts to try and limit OSU to only running a minute off the clock. Get the ball back with over 2.5 minutes, score, onside kick attempt. Long odds, but at least a chance. Does not require a 2pt conversion to tie the game.

But noooooooo. Took the chance of gaining the first, turned it over on downs at the 16, and gave OSU the ball already in FG range which will require two TDs AND a 2pt conversion to tie.

Yeah, call me a hater. But I'll admit to that being the cause of my questioning if others think he made the smart move in that situation.

EDIT: I wanted them to beat the suckeyes.
