After all that hard work getting out of two murders he still lands himself in jail for 30+ years.

Don't they only find that out right now with an autopsy?

They can only definitively diagnose it with an autopsy, but I'm fairly sure that brain scans can show that someone is susceptible to or could be possibly suffering from it. That's mainly why most suicides lately are shots to the chest/heart. It allows for true studying of the brain. I'm positive that a lawyer like Cochran would have had dozens of brain scan images in court, though, to put reasonable doubt into the minds of the jury.

Sadly the mishandling and technicalities is what ultimately won this case.

Not to be insensitive but all he had to do was shut up and live out the rest of his life and there was nothing anyone could do to him.

Just goes to show that those who commit one crime usually do it over and over and over.
