I've only watched Vandy once this year. On sports center highlights I've noticed that they are pretty good from the perimeter. They seem balanced in having veterans like Ezeli and Tchiengang on the front line. What do we need to do to get the win?

Begins and ends with Taylor imo. Gotta shut him down and not let Jenkins get going from 3.

They absolutely pounded us on the inside in our previous meeting. Worst loss all year. We need to control or at least push the interior and not have 25 TOs. Then we have a chance.

I'd say we probably need to score more points. But seriously, I think they're the most experienced team in the SEC so I'd say we'll have to play extremely smart basketball. Limit turnovers and play sticky defense as always. We hold em to the 60s in points, I think we have a chance. Keep Taylor and Jenkins in check and I think we got this one. It's not gonna be easy though. We need to come out with a fighter's mentality and want it more than they do.

To be honest with you, and this didn't really stick out that much, but I thought the game turned around last night when Skylar dove on the floor for a loose ball. I think that lit a fire under our team, and was exactly an example of the type of ball we need to play to win. Scrappy!

Not having 20+ turnovers. We're a much more physical team then they are and better (maybe not quite as deep) on the inside. Maymon needs to continue his trend of getting to the line early and often, and we need Richardson/Tatum/Golden to be on point with their perimeter defense. They're going to hit threes, but we need to at least make them contested and definitely not loose Jenkins in the mess and allow him open looks. Stokes having another huge game would also help, but I think his offensive rebounding will be the biggest plus if he can get that rolling again. Go vols

:) I was expecting the inevitable 'score more points' post. Ok, so will Stokes guard Taylor? And someone please tell me McBee won't be on Jenkins.

Pretty sure Tatum/Richardson/McRae will guard Taylor, and unfortunately McBee will, at some point, be guarding Jenkins.

As the others below me stated, I believe you'll see a quicker guy like tatum or richardson (our best perimeter defenders) guard Taylor. I could see either one of them guarding Jenkins too.

Wouldn't be surprised if Martin doesn't go to his 4 guard lineup some in this one. Talking heads were saying today that 4 guard lineups have given Vandy trouble this year. This means Yemi doesn't have to play unless there's foul trouble. I look for the same starting 5 as normal but I wouldn't be shocked to see Golden, McRae, Tatum, and Richardson on the floor together whenever either Stokes or Maymon are out of the game. I think the 4 guard line up matches up well with Vandy and it will help keep UT's 2 quality bigs well rested. Ezeli is the only true physical presence Vandy has.

I think that now that McRae has his head on straight he will get the bulk of the minutes on Jenkins. His length and athletism should make things tough for Jenkins. McRae's defense is an area of his game that doesn't get talked about enough. He can really guard the perimeter when he is focused.

pound it inside, get festus in foul trouble. then own the paint. LSU game in 2nd half was the blueprint for success with this team. might see more richardson in the vandy game.
