I am ashamed that some of you would come on here and bash these kids. Corey Anderson playes his rear off every game and every play he is in. He is a great blocker and until this game has had sure hands. He is liked by his team and from what I have been told is more of a leader than most know. He is a quality kid and he is from Ktown. So get off of his butt and the other players as well. If you want to slam the coaches then fine but leave the kids out. They HAVE played hard. If you want to bash players root for Vandy.
If any of you want to jump ship then be my guest. As for me I say thank you team. I know you played your butts off and I know you will continue to do so until the final whistle of the final game. Me and mine will be behind you all the way.

sure hands? He cost us the Alabama game and almost cost us the LSU game letting the ball go right threw his chest. Sure hands, HA.

Good Post Volbeef88. I agree with you. As far as those fans who jump ship. When you walk the plank, I hope you land on concrete head first.

You forget the interception that he saved early in the game at LSU that would have been another TD and probably would have sealed the game for the tigers. And I'm sick and tired of CA getting blamed for the Bama loss we had other blown opportunities to score they just weren't as dramatic as that play. Get off CA and jump back on the fire Sanders bandwagon! :ninja:

Like I said. You can root for Vandy! That kid does tons of things EVERY game that helps us out that a casual fan who knows very little about football would miss. He has bailed out our qb so many times by picking up blitzes and shaking off for a hot pass. You sell out on a player if you want. He made a mistake trying to win the game. That is the kind of guy I want wearing Orange.

Anyone who jumps ship now is not much of a fan. Worst case scenario we will be 7-4 and get invited to a less than auspicious bowl game. It's not the season we hoped for but how many fans of other school can honestly say that 7-4 with a bowl invite is the worst season in almost 20 years? It's bad by our standards but it 'aint that bad compared to what other fans deal with year in and year out.

No one is jumping ship. If someone fumbles the football inside the red zone of a game that is tied 3-3, something is wrong. You can say all you want about playing your heart out, but we as fans still reserve the right to get mad. If you think getting upset about a play that changed the outcome of the game is the same as jumping ship and buying Vandy t-shirts your blinded by your own stupidity. I am glad you are such a good fan, we are all as well. This is an online forum that exists so we can talk about our favorite team, good or bad. That game took place less then 48 hours ago, I believe we are entitled to a couple more days of venting before you start complaining.

The defender put his hat on the ball when the kid was going for a TD. It is not like he had butter fingers geez. And yes we as fans can and do complain but I think it is out of bounds to jump on a kid for trying to win. If they were not playing hard (ie peach bowl a couple of years ago) then we talk about it. But when they give it all and just make a mistake trying to win. Then I say fine. I will stay with that kind of player and you can stay with yours. I will win more with a kid who will try. Thank you Corey and I am glad your only a JR.

I don't think anybody would say that you shouldn't get upset when bad things happen. I think the point is . . . be upset with what happened and not at a kid who is playing his guts out. It takes a team to win and it takes a team to lose.

Fellas, you all have valid points. We are still feeling the sting of the lost. Time to come together as fans and show our support as much as we have in the past. It's time to put on the ole rally hat and circle the wagon. Tradition, Pride, Tennessee.

Great post VolBeef !!!! I am proud of the effort he made to get to the endzone. The Bama player just got a hard hit on him in the right (wrong for us) place. Even if he had both hands on the ball, it probably still would have flown out because of the force that was made.

That's all very nice but these young men are getting free educations and with that comes certain responsibilities and the public criticism, and praise, that ensues.

Not to mention that Mr. Anderson was given the opportunity of a lifetime to be a hero, something that could have meant lots of money in his future, and he laid it on the turf.

Further, Mr. Anderson was a young man without a real starting position when Vol coaching decided to make a place for him at FB. Break Number One.

The stark reality is that if you are to accept , oh $50,000 worth of edification, there involves both risk and additional reward. If I were Mr. Anderson, I would switch my mind off from the half empty glass and see the half full one cemented firmly in his hand.

Of course, he might drop it. :whistling:
