Bruce Pearl if he failed to have a play in place and allowed the Vols to lose as did Les Miles in the LSU debacle against Ole Miss this weekend or was it Wayne Chism, apparently lost focus and tossed an ill fated three pointer, same mentallity Chris Webber of the Michigan Fab 5 did when he called a time out in NCAA Tourney with no time outs left turning thew ball over near his basket with seconds remaining? You make the call.

I have always supported Bruce Pearl and will continue to support him. However, I think if we had the timeout why not take it? Maybe he liked our chances being rushed down the court without giving the defense time to react and adjust. Maybe he talked about something during that second timeout while we were waiting for Purdue to shoot those late free throws. Who knows? Luckily for us its just Basketball and not football. There is still a playoff system and we can still make a championship run... We played a very close game as an underdog so it wont hurt our rankings terribly and wont be thought of as a bad loss come selection time. We still have tons of time left to prove ourselves, against Kansas and Kentucky to name a few. We will be OK.

I will say though, I probably would have called the timeout...

How is no one angry about the 3 that Cam Tatum took with 4 of his teammates trailing so far back that no one had a chance at a rebound but Purdue?

Because he has been our best 3 point shooter and it was wide open with a minute left in the game. That's a three you take. You can't get better look.

It was not a good decision, but it wasn't the last possession that would determine the game. That could be why?? As another post you have made suggests, you shouldn't be embarrassed about anything except your uninformed posts that offer nothing except the so-called foolish predictions you make with no factual information to base them on.

This discussion is futile.

I think the "Embarrassed" thread made it crystal clear that the blame for this loss falls squarely on the shoulders of the officials. I'm still appalled.

Bruce said that they had a play set where B Maze was suppose to take his man off a screen to the basket and get either fouled or score since he had been successful during the game doing that.

Purdue cut him off and he was able to find Chism wide open. Chism does not have a good enough handle to drive from the top of the key to score. He took a good shot wide open and just missed.

Bruce did not call timeout bc Purdue is one of the best defenses in the country and did not want to give them a chance to set up.

Minus not having rebounders, that was not a bad shot. He got set, had a clean look, and didn't rush it. With the way he's played so far this year, I don't question that shot at all.
