Oklahoma opt outs

Does Eric Gray have much of an NFL future really? I mean he was somewhat impressive in his year here, but then whenever I have watched a Sooner game in the last two years he has disappeared. If he does anything it would be as a punt/kick return guy. RBs are a dime a dozen anymore

Morris? I mean if he can cut it he will get paid. O linemen are always in high demand-if they have the ability? Wanya, I'm just not sure.

I’m not sure of his NFL potential but he had over 1,366 yards and averaged 6.4 yards a carry this year.

You're tough to impress! I'd take 1600 yards from scrimmage from a UT tailback any time.

Like I said, I honestly didn't think his number was that high. Watched a few Okie games last two years and just never saw him do much-if anything.

I mean, any RB is going to have a rough go of it in the NFL these days. They chew those guys up for a couple years and then move on to the next. How many even end up getting a second contract for much more than the league minimum? Of the ones now-Zeke, McCaffrey, then I hit a wall on pulling up others. Fournette ended up getting cut before his rookie deal was even up didn't he? I know he's in TB now but I'm sure that is not for huge money.

Basically you could say any "player" (not just rb) has a rough go of it in the NFL. The league average is 3.3 years among all positions. The average rb is 2.5 years.

I'm no scout, but I'd say he's 3rd round ish material due to his frame. If he can hone his pass catching skills he could be a great 2nd option for the right team. He'd pair well with someone like D. Henry. He's certainly getting some mileage coming up on season 8.

Habitual quitters

It appears that way but they also have to feel like they got pie on their faces. As people have pointed out, they probably were two involved in the money schemes of the Pruitt staff and had to go, but if you look at the way things turned out they appeared to have gotten the short straw.

Played Basketball at UT, then transferred. I did not think he had any eligibility left...
Played with Kidd at Cal and in the NBA a while. Excited to see what he does against FSU. I know things were bad for Venables, but this is desperate

Maybe this can serve as the OU vs FSU game thread. OU leads FSU 17-11 early in the second half.

Go…

I don't know what kind of a season Wanya had, but Gray ended up with the 9th-most single season rushing yards in the history of OU in 2022. His team wasn't good, but that won't hurt his draft stock. I'm not sure he has any regrets; he left a highly uncertain situation at UT.
