In Gwinnutia, It’s accepted at metal recycling companies. Some cities will take it at periodic recycling events because the contracted waste disposal companies won’t allow it in their curbside bins.
Does it need to be stripped at all?

Generally speaking, stripping it can increase the value a ton. Especially if you have the solid copper jacket and solid copper core. It's time intensive, but you'll get #2 copper prices for both. Right now between $2.80 & 3.15 per pound.
