Pretty nice write up on Steve McNair. Still amazes me the video game numbers he put up. He showed in the NFL there was no doubt he could have been a force at a big time school but nobody wanted him to play QB since he was a great defensive player. I know he was a finalist but if we’re being objective he should have won the Heisman.

The GOAT can't only have 1 WS
Wasn’t really his fault. In the postseason he was credited with 25 unearned runs allowed in 198 innings pitched. So ~12-13% of the time there was going to be an unearned run across the board. Compare that to John Smoltz. He was only credited with 5 unearned runs allowed in 209 innings pitched. So that’s only allowing unearned runs 2% of the time. Crazy to have that large of a disparity whenever the bulk of their postseason innings came on the same team. You can’t control having bad defense being played behind you in the postseason.

agreed...but I find that more to be a Coaching issue, with Bobby at the Braves, at least...

I just know i watched him live both in Chicago and in Atlanta a few times, and he was AMAZING!
Maddux was probably the unluckiest postseason pitcher of all-time. 25 unearned runs allowed in nearly 200 innings. Can’t think of another HOF pitcher that had to deal with that.
