Do these guys get reinstated/another chance since we have a new coach? I don't know what Phillips did so badly to get suspended. Just asking. Will add much needed depth

As much trouble bray got in this summer and didn't even get suspended. He had two run in with the law. These guys probably did nothing major or it would have been on the news.

I think Butch is trying to run off everything from this past year, whether its good or not.

bray got cited for speeding on a boat....so thats nothing if he wasn't in the publics eye

and he did, well throw a beer bottle and break a window. so that ones is kinda inexcusable.


but to real, id rather that happen then bar fights and drugs

Thought Phillips was trying to transfer back to Florida if they would have him?

I think he was indefinitely suspended so theoretically I guess he could be back. Doubt it but we'll see. Omari Phillips will never play football anywhere.

That's not a very intelligent thing to say buddy.

I would guess that getting a second chance would depend on what CDD wrote down in their file and if CBJ wants them back or not.

If CBJ decided he would give them another chance then how the player acted in a personal meeting with CBJ would probably be the final deciding factor.

I don't think CBJ will take any crap from anyone if it's just BS but he will be understanding when it's something serious because all indications point to him really caring about his players and their best interests.

Time will tell.

Omari phillip is still a member of the team. He is still in Knoxville. Not transfering. Got home sick tweeted that stuff apologized and talking to his family made a impact. Bonner is also still at Tennessee got suspended by dooley but not kicked off the team.

I understand they are great players but your sending the wrong message if you just let them back on the team.

I would say it depends on whattheir infractions were. I think they should get a clean slate, new coach fresh start.

CBJ has a saying either you’re one or another drain or a fountain, you are sucking the teams chemistry or your flourishing the team with it.

These guys will have to decide what direction they want because they will be quick escape goats for discipline if they don’t learn the difference fast.

Dam you guys are talking about stuff that has not happened. Both these kids are still at UT!!! And still with the team!

Here is the harsh reality. You have 80+ guys. Some will want to be part of the solution, and some will remain part of the problem. But the bottom line is this team is a LOSING team. The guys that are there need to realize that changes are coming, and they each need to look in the mirror, realizing that they were part of the worst losing tradition in UT history.
I can't imagine a player with any brains not wanting to leave that behind. But some guys are so accustomed to losing, that they are comfortable with losing. And that aint gonna cut it. So, expect attrition. You've got some who simply don't care, and other who will think they have no culpability in the results we've seen the last few years. CBJ's is going to demand that players take ownership.
