Can you believe this? Two Democratic operatives dressed up as telephone company repairmen to try to bug a conservative senator's office! Ha! They claimed they were just acting as "reporters."

I guess the UF law school didn't bother to include "innocent til proven guilty" in it's syllabus

Not sure what the point of this thread is - attempt to show hypocrisy? Who knows.

If it's about the ACORN buster, it turns out the bugging part (the serious part) was falsely reported.

didnt catch the whole hannity interview, but it sounded like they were investigating some sorta corruption with that senator. I don't know the whole story.

Conservative activists were caught trying to bug La. Senator's office. They are going to jail. And they should.

They are folk heroes among Hannity loons because they were trying to get info on this senator having gotten money for her state in the stimulus thing. Not money for her, like bribes or anything. It was purely political.

Amazing that the GOP faithful still haven't learned from Watergate.

could not have made a more reaching, and wrong, statement. Acting as if political shenanigans are monopolized on the right is almost as ridiculous and the stretch you made here saying the "party" hasn't learned anything.

yes, watergate is so bad compared to the systematic voter fraud that ACORN has been doing for years. i guess you have no problem with that. gator.

Do you have a link that verifies:

attempted bugging took place

or that formal charges of attempted bugging/wiretapping took place?

I can not find one - only stories about the arrest where it was speculated that they were attempting to bug.

A news report - notice that the official charge is entering under false pretenses to commit a felony. What that felony is has not been mentioned. Original news stories claimed wire tapping because they posed as phone repair people.

O'Keefe claims he was trying to investigate the claims that people complaining to Landrieu's office could not get through - phones weren't working. Sounds like they were going to get video footage of Team Landrieu's perspective on the phones working/not working.

Which the above dances on the line of invasion/harassment, but with this being a public office do the same rules apply?

Not trying to justify doing what they did, this is an honest question.

LG is having them transferred to FL where "they are GOING to JAIL".

Wow....can we submit this statement by LG to any future jury duty? The FL Bar? I mean a lawyer coming in here saying they are guilty and should go to jail...what sort of system of justice are they teaching at UF?

Let's not forget the GOP staffers that hacked in to Sen. Ted Kennedy's computers a few years back!

Let's face it; politics is a blood sport, played for keeps. No party has a monopoly on virtue or villainy. There are players on each team that will do virtually anything to acheive their goals. We may as well stop pouting and accept the fact that this will never change. We can only deal with each case as it happens.
