Fox News Sunday apparently decided that the top news stories of the day were Newt Gingrich's and Laura Bush's new books (in that order, too). What oil spill? What battles in Iraq and Afghanistan? What economy? What Supreme Court nominee? What immigration reform battle?

Nah, none of those are important...what Fox News viewers need to learn about is the literary efforts of "super-relevant" Republicans like the disgraced former Speaker of the House and the former First Lady of the least popular president in US history.

But eagle-eyed C&Ler Mugsy noticed something in the Bush home, where Chris Wallace interviewed Laura Bush, that should make the hairs on Glenn Beck's neck stand up on end:
LAURA BUSH IS A MAOIST SCHOLAR!

Look at the bookshelf behind Chris Wallace. Right behind his shoulder appears to be this book.

Interestingly, most of the Amazon reviews describe the book as somewhat "sympathetic" to Mao.
Wait a second...you don't suppose that it's not actually Pickles who read the book, do you? That would mean that it belongs to former President George W. "I read three Shakespeares" Bush.
Does Glenn Beck know?????

The best way to beat someone is to study his tactics. You need to understand your enemy. I know that's tough for you liberals to understand. You read only those things that 100% agree with your entrenched position, and refuse to engage in any real debate. You know what is "left" and use emotion and childish tactics to "win" arguments.

And in this case blatant plagerism.

Obviously, Laura Bush is not a Mao follower. George isn't, either, because if it isn't Kung Pao Chicken at the local diner, he wouldn't ever have heard of it, anyway.

The point of the post was two-fold. First that Fox's alleged "News" Show has all of these major and very important news stories to choose from and instead they lead with book promos for two major Republicans. Second, that had an interview been done of Obama, Pelosi, or Reid, then Fox News and the other histrionic outlets would have spotted that book and talked about it for a month.

(The story was emailed to me from a buddy).

CNN never does book interviews? It's a 24 hour news network. They show a lot of stuff.

you honestly don't think that ANY network wouldn't have taken that interview?

Oh, of course they would have. Its just not going to be the lead story anywhere but Fox.

And of course she chose the friendly confines of Fox to first tout the book. She might go on some others, if she thinks she can avoid any actual questions that aren't just sucking up to her.

She sure isn't going anywhere if someone dares ask, "So, how was it being in the White House and married to the biggest rube to ever walk the halls?"

bs. it would be the lead story everywhere. even on liberal garbage shows like the today show and oprah. and don't think either of those shows would have the balls to say anything negative about her husband either.

I personally was unhappy that the WH relented in their initial war of words with the Fox network. If I were press secretary, I'd have taken the position either that 1) they are banned from the WH altogether; or 2) they can come, but no question they ask will be answered.

It's time someone stood up to them and called a spade a spade, here.

and when a Repub pres did it to MSNBC in 2012 he would be crucified. It's ridiculous to suggest the WH should start deciding who the press is (although I'm sure the Dems would be all for it)

also no network wants that to start happening (like cnn, msnbc)

That figures coming from the left, only softball questions from the far left media are allowed. You don't want anyone there that will actually ask tough questions.

Like the left does with every other "news" outlet
