Think it’s considered a false start on the center. Was it really a penalty? It looked as if the center just snapped the ball on the wrong count and the rest of the team was surprised. Is that really a penalty these days, or was the ref protecting the Bama QB from getting popped with no one blocking?
No it’s not, false start is a flinch out of stance causing the illusion that the play has started.Think it’s considered a false start on the center.
Wow. Well that makes an already suspiciously called game even worse. I’m sure heupel and co will submit replays and complaints but nothing will happen. Absolutely infuriating. No it’s not, false start is a flinch out of stance causing the illusion that the play has started.
Snap infraction, which was called, is when the center moves the ball and it’s not snapped.
Poorly snapping the ball off count isn’t a penalty, refs blew it dead to protect bama.
There are actually designed plays where the center snaps the ball, but the other offensive linemen remain motionless. It’s a rare play, but I’ve seen those plays called two or three times by teams. No it’s not, false start is a flinch out of stance causing the illusion that the play has started.

It would have been a fumble by any other team, but since it was Bama the refs had to help them avoid the turnover or loss of significantly more than 5 yards….Was it really a penalty?
