Has not everything she ever touched ended up in disaster??

Let's see off the top of my head, she was the author of the 'Gorelick wall' that prevented intelligence and criminal investigators from sharing information, needlessly.

AG John Ashcroft testified before the 9/11 comission that the Gorelick wall was the main contributing factor that allowed the 9/11 attack to succeed.

While heading up Fannie Mae and collecting $26 million in bonuses, she also initiated the buy up and bundling of toxic loans that ultimately cost the American taxpayer hundreds of billions of dollars, triggered the financial meltdown that still has about 10% of the American workforce left out in the cold without employment.

Surely others can come up with more examples of her record of monumental screw ups.

If it were possible her appointment as director of the FBI could even be worse that having Samantha Powers engineer our muddled Libyan policy. :hmm:

Ashcroft on what "allowed the 9/11 attack to succeed"?

Wow.

I'll refresh your memory ACLG, if Ashcroft had
been advised of intelligence on the 9/11 gang
that was available before the event, he would
have instructed the FBI to arrest at least some
of them.

Gorelick's wall prevented that information being
made avaiable to him.

Say what you want about Ashcroft but he was
a 1,000 times better than the incompetent now
holding that position.

I always thought it was a conflict of interest for Gorelick to have such a prominent role on the 9/11 Commission. It gave her a chance to CYA. She should have been someone that testified; not run the dang thing.

Ditto, as soon as you saw her name you knew is was going to be a combover.

She certainly wasn't the only one either.

Gorelick is the Isiah Thomas of The Beltway. Even after all of the train wrecks, she still manages to find work. I don't understand the fascination with her.

Did Clinton appointee corrupt Flight 800 probe?

As deputy attorney general, Gorelick played a key role in shaping – some would say "corrupting" – the outcome of the TWA Flight 800 investigation. Given what she knows, Gorelick could play an even more critical role in determining "prior knowledge" about the events of Sept. 11. But the question remains: Did congressional Democrats appoint Gorelick to share the truth or suppress it? She has the power to do either.

In 1994, Gorelick assumed the deputy position after Clinton crony Webster Hubbell resigned in disgrace. In time, she would hand it on to her successor, Eric Holder, who himself would be disgraced in the Marc Rich affair.

I had forgotten about Gorelick's involvement in the Duke Lacrosse fake rape case.

Was it not weird how the media sensationalized the Duke case (appropriately ending up with egg all over their faces,) and barely mentioned the murders of the UT and VT couples??
