Sports Illustrated has a good article on the life of an assistant coach this week. It's worth the read.

It was a pretty good read. That's definitely not an easy job. You have to really have a passion for that kind of stuff.

Larry Harrison is absolutely one of my favorite people in basketball.

Why did he resign from a HC to be an asst coach a few years back? Is he that coach that is a road dog and just enjoys doing the grunt work more than managing a program? Or did something happen? Just curious.

I think he realized he made a mistake jumping to Hartford when he did. That's a program that has a really low ceiling. If he had stayed an assistant a little longer and kept racking up top level classes, he could have gotten a much better job. He'd still like another shot, but it would have to be a good job. That's one of the real strengths West Virginia has right now. They've got three head coach quality guys on their bench and Erik Martin isn't far from it.

Hat, care to link this one? I went to SI, and I read a decently enlightening article on the NCAA's investigation process, but I couldn't find this article.

Thanks a mil,
