Almost everyone in the country thinks this a good hire. Then you have this fan base who thinks this is a awful hire.

Vol fans understand the importance of the brand impact of this hire.

We hoped for a Mercedes and would settle for a Lexus but we got a Camery.

Safe and reliable but doesn't make a statement of power

My non-UT friends have not been afraid to tell me they think it's a sub par hire. I hope we're all wrong and he's the best coach we've ever had. I just don't see it.

Most of the time you have to take what Basilio says with a grain of salt. I agree that our AD messed up the process of this hire, but let's see how it works our before calling for his head.

All we can do is wish him the best and support him until we have reason not to. Only time will tell if he can win in the SEC and, unlike Dooley, he has won at other locations so let's not be too critical already. The staff he puts together will determine how well he will do. A new DC is a must but other than that, I hope he can keep some of those currently in place.

Is it possible that Hart is a worse AD than Hamilton?

He has already proved to be a liar. Went cheep when he said money would not be an issue.

Folks, we need to start looking further up the ladder than Dave Hart.

All indications are that he botched this, but there are more problems at Tennessee than the athletic director.

I don't get my cues from the way I feel from Basilio. He is right on Hart, though. And I rarely agree with him....Tennessee is nothing but an embarrassment now. Smh forever

that's your excuse? Kentucky passes him, he got destroyed by Dooley, he has beaten 1 top 25 team in his entire career (a team that finished 6-6), he runs a read option. But no, everyone else thinks he's great so we should to!

Completely agree, the Alabama fans, the Florida fans, the Georgia fans, the South Carolina fans, and the LSU fans all think this is a really good hire.

This hire is Dooley light.

More years of wandering in the college football wilderness...

Well, at least we hired a proven winner in the Big East rather than a proven loser in the WAC.

Otherwise, pretty underwelming.
