Once mighty Kentucky says it would accept NIT

Yeah, I too found that line particularly interesting. The state tournament starts on that Wednesday. It seems like they could host a first round game on Tuesday and a second round game on Sunday.

It would be funny to see UK play on TV in Memorial though. It would actually be rather historical but at the same time humorous that they are in the NIT and don't get their own arena.

Seriously, I will be very frustrated and annoyed if somebody doesn't beat them this week.

Watch them get hot and win the damn thing.

I'd love to knock them out ourselves, but I'd rather see them lose early and avoid them in the final, not just because they had our number this year, but because I don't want to think about the calls/texts I'd get after that game.

That said, UT hasn't made the final since '91.

I'd love NOT to play KY again this year. I hope they lose in the first round.

A theme started to develop this afternoon with teams who recently had their at-large bubbles burst going down in the first round of their conference tournaments.

The city of Lexington owns Rupp Arena, not UK.

A game in Memorial Colisseum would be awesome. I can only remember seeing the Cats play in Rupp, so it would be very, very cool to see them play in Memorial, which is still better than some SEC venues to this day.

I played in Memorial several times. I'm no Kentucky fan, but it is hard not to be awed by the history in that place.

Rupp, although several times bigger, just doesn't have the same personality.

Agreed. Sometimes I wish we would still play there, and tickets be damned. The atomosphere would be so much better, and condusive to a home court advantage.

Right now all you can hear in Rupp is a collective sigh and mumbling as we throw the ball away.

I saw where UK is a no 4 seed in NIT bracketology(before today I didn't know there was such a thing). I don't care if BG has only recruited for 2 years, a 4 seed in the NIT is telling.

Who would be UK's first round opponent? Gardner Webb, VMI, San Diego St., or dare I say Minnesota?

Karma.......

That really calms the masses.

nah, even the fans I know that have turned on Billy Clyde still despise Tubby even more and still consider him a joke.

They either don't care that he is leading Minnesota to the Big Dance or they think it's just because the Big Ten is that bad.
