This is an honest question and I'm trying to change the subject a little bit on this board. Would you rather have a top 10 one and done player like Tobias Harris that stays one year...or a 4 year player that takes 2 years or so to develop like Jordan McRae? And give your reasoning.

4 years. Builds stability and loyalty around the program. I want guys that want to put on the orange as much as possible and cry when they take it off the last time. There is too much uncertainty with the 1 and dones. UK had the best class last year and lost in the first round of the NIT. Too erratic for my taste.

That's my opinion as well. But I like what Self and K does too though because they sprinkle a few 5 stars in there as well.

Four years no doubt. Kentucky is getting huge talent the last two years but hasn't done any better than we have. They have three losses this season and they were put out of the NIT in the first round last year. I think getting highly rated four star type players rated in top 100 are better than the one and done 1 to 15 players because they get better every year they are in schools. The other guys are gone and you have to start all over.

Personally, I like the 4 year player. It's hard to even remember all the players that have come through the Kentucky program just over the last 5 years because of all of Cal's one and dones.

The problem with the question is that you always get 4 year players. Very few teams in the country get more than 1 one and done player at a time, so the question isn't which do you want, but do you want the one and done player at all. Seeing how one and done implies NBA talent, I would say it's hard to argue against taking a player of that caliber.

I think a team can be very competitive with four year 3 or 4 star talent, as long as it is properly developed.

This sounds very "old school" of me, but I'll say it anyway.

I will always hope that they, (specifically basketball players), remain at the school of their choice until they graduate. It is better for the basketball program, and better for the individual student athlete.

I understand the various circumstances, but I will always side with staying until you graduate.

If you can only get 4 year players they need to be talented.

And thats another reason why its a dead concept.

The Fab Five is not walking through that door ever again.

Then there is the coaching factor. Over time, I've come to respect fewer and fewer college basketball coaches, but hey, its the nature of the beast right?

4 star like mccrae! I like my player to play more than one yr. I think it helps more in the long run. I can unstand taking a 5 star if he's really the missing piece to go for a run at a championship.

Come on man....they have lost to Michigan St, Baylor and UNC and the info you gave starts a year past the NC they won. If you like 4 year players that's fine but don't twist info like a politician.

Give me guys like Darius T. and Jordy Mc...but sprinkle in a superstar every now and then for a jolt of energy.

Ill take the roller coaster ride of a 1 and done. A 4 year player typically tops out at ability. A 1 and done type if happens to be that right one make you have an electric season.

I would rather have a player who wants to be here and give his all for his teamates and program rather than a player who is worried about his self and his draft stock. GO VOLS!
