One of the recruiting services has Dobbs

The coaches have been very clear. What they are looking for on the QB keeper on the read is positive yardage. Just a willingness to keep the ball consistently and pick up 4 or 5 yards at a time increases your chances of making bigger plays with RBs in the run game.

They aren't asking the QB to house it every time he keeps it.

This.

Then when its time to take a shot down the field, play action over the top should give us some great opportunities down the field.

Dobbs will give us more ability to stretch the field.

I'm not concerned about his time in an official 40 yard dash. So much of those are about exploding out of a three point stance. The first 10 yards is the most important part of an electronically times 40 yard dash. It can be the difference between a 4.7 and a 4.5.

That is a skill I doubt Dobbs has worked on and developed as much as skills that can be used in a game.

I'll take game speed and athleticism and a poor timed 40 any day

He is fast enough 3 carries for 19 years versus Bama. If he can average six yards a carry we'll be fine in that part of the game. I got a little nervous about the way he was handing off the ball sticking it out there like a big loaf of bread. That was the only bad part of his game I noticed.

I would guess he is about a 4.6 which will improve with the strength program and speed training.

It's not. Going strictly by memory, I saw him listed in the 4.5-4.6 zone. Sorry, too lazy to go back and find the reference.

Worley would have never gotten to the edge in Bama's redzone like Dobbs did. It would have been a 4 yard loss instead of a 7 yard gain. Looks deceived you.

:hi:

That's probably best , as I don't think you would find it

He's a pro style QB that can scramble to save his life. All this talk of him being a "mobile QB" and that he fits Jones system better...idk I really just don't see it. Honestly the few times Worley has scrambled, he looked faster than when Dobbs scrambled against Bama.

And to be clear I'm not saying that he's slow or that he can't scramble for extra yards if a play breaks down, but some of you guys act like he's going to be Mike Vick and he's flat out not.

Yeah. Even Jones said he's a pocket QB who can scramble when a play breaks down.

He's not fast but he can get a few yards when we need him to. 4.7-4.8

against a team that was up big and had let the air out ... btw Worley averaged 6 yds a carry against USC . Means little if anything

Logic hurts their heads

Offense line just block and someone will come open. No one open then throw away and live for another play. You can't have your Quarterback run or you will pay for it. Just ask Conner Shaw

He's probably similar to The-Houston-Texan's-Running-Back-Whose-Name-Shall-Not-Be-Spoken - deceptive speed.

Bama's D makes every scrambling QB look slower...

Worley is a 4.6. By that I am saying he will gain between 4 and 6 yards per game. J/K please don't shoot.

Dobbs didn't look that fast vs. Bama. A QB doesn't need elite speed to run the option. He needs to read the defense and make good decisions. I really don't want to see him run much vs. MO because he is the only healthy QB available.
