Is having an affinity for alcohol something that we cannot tolerate of our elected officials?

Considering he's denied taking a drink in years? Someone fell off the wagon alright...and landed on his head.

He only denied it because alcohol has become such a hot topic. Binge drinking is now considered more than 3 drinks in 1 night, and someone is an alcoholic if they 'binge' drink 2 or more nights a week. With this completely lax definition, that means that roughly 70% of all college students are alcoholics, 70% of businessmen, 70% of enlisted soldiers, 80% of Officers, 90% of politicians, etc.

He has denied taking a single drink since that point in time. I'm not arguing that he has or hasn't. I'm only saying what he has repeated numerous times.

He probably hasn't taken a single drink, he probably takes several at a time.

I know this is not in any way a qualification of a president, however, there are a lot of presidents in our history that would have made great drinking partners:
Bush, Clinton, Reagan, JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, Grant, Jackson, and Washington, just to name a few.

Grant wouldn't leave anything for anyone else to drink. JFK? Only if you bring a few females with you.
