Actually the RPI of the team you beat or lose to is very relevant.Whoever the loss is to is irrelevant to the actual RPI ranking. It will, however, affects the nuts and bolts of our resume, i.e., how many good wins and bad losses we have. RPI is just winning percentage and schedule strength, so going 1-1 against Austin Peay State and Connecticut yields the same result, regardless of who was the win and who was the loss.

Arky had a lower RPI (61) we beat them at home so we only jumped about 5 spots in the index.
A win against Bama on the road (RPI 37) would probably jump us about 15 spots.
The better the RPI of the team you play and where you play the more it affects your own.
we really need to win at bama on saturday, if we win that and can jump 15 spots or so as you say and this really starts to come to light a bit. once we get inside of about 80 this is actually going to seem real to me and not like a dream
Not that it matters, but we beat bama and we'll really start turning heads in the media.
Many are still writing us off as a tourney team.
i would love to garner some media attention. it really would mean a lot for the program and would go a long ways in recruiting imo. if you turn on espn for them talking college basketball and they lead off with something about tennessee making a huge late push that would be huge imo.
then if we continue that run and make it into the ncaa on a big time run, you can bet we will get some big time love from the guys picking brackets on tv.
