It is what it is.....time to move onto the next big college football event....N.S.D. Then start looking out our squad for 2011.

Will we steal a 5* or few 4* kids from other schools?

Will we finally out play Florida this year? We played them well but came up short again. Our program was on the up & up while the Gators were spiraling down towards the end of the season and losing C.U.M. for FAMILY REASONS :) to top it all off.

Do we beat South Carolina and UGA with Tyler Bray :loco: at the helm for 4 full qtrs?

Can we win the East?

With this schedule for 2011 which games do we win?

UT football schedule for 2011
09/03/2011 Montana
09/10/2011 Cincinnati
09/17/2011 at Florida
09/24/2011 Open
10/01/2011 Buffalo
10/08/2011 Georgia
10/15/2011 LSU
10/22/2011 at Alabama
10/29/2011 South Carolina
11/05/2011 Middle Tennessee
11/12/2011 at Arkansas
11/19/2011 Vanderbilt
11/26/2011 at Kentucky
12/03/2011 SEC Championship (Atl.)

Is it trully possible to be 10-2 or 9-3 by the end of the season?

Will we be able to develop a solid run game next season?

The ending of that bowl game made me so upset.....I'm looking forward to our bright future we have and not this one nightmarish bowl game.

I would say 8-4 most likely.

Bama and SC I dont see as wins at all. Arkansas will be an interesting game. If AJ Green stays then the Georgia game is going to be an interesting one.

AJ Green has already said he's going pro.

If we beat florida and start 4-0, I see 9-10 wins including bowl game. If we lose to florida 7-8 games including bowl game.

I see a 10 win season. This loss wasn't just program changing in a bad way. From a recruit's eyes you have to think that Tennessee football looked exciting last night.

Rogers and Hunter looked good making plays back to back.

Bray learned a lot last night(especially about celebrating too early).

Our defense has improved(we still need more speed).

I think we beat Florida down(don't see them stopping our offense).

Arky will be a problem.

Georgia will be a rough game.

Bama will be a war(they won't have Julio either).

We're going to beat SCAR.

I want to see what our defense does next season and if we can get a RB to compliment our passing attack(Poole is not the answer).

I agree with TBB, well put. 9-10 wins isn't out of the question if we can get a few bounces our way at the end of these close games.

I'm lookin forward to LSU at home... Ill be there.
and im not sure how tough arkansas will be. our secondary will be the best part of our D next year and ryan mallets leaving. i think 8-9 wins is reasonable expectation. but i wouldnt be surprised if we finished with 6 or 10
who knows at this point

Our secondary could be good if we get another CB besides Waggner. He's too slow period. The play where the RB beat him to the corner in OT was ridiculous.

he isnt slow. he has three pick sixes....
but yeah he did take a horrible angle. you have to play the outside and push the back towards the middle where the lbs are, but hes only a sophomore. another offseason should be good for him

One was against Tenn-Martin where he looked slow. The other two covered about 30 yards combined. He's slow plain and simple.

People dont need to get ahead of themselves, it's easy to look at that schedule & say we could "possibly" win 9-10 games. We have 8 months until the next season, ALOT of things could happen to hurt or help the team. Coaching changes, players leaving, adding players, ect... talk to me in August & I'll give you a prediction.

The realistic bet for next season is probably 7-5, but improvements in two or three areas could turn that into 10-2.

Our non-two-minute defense held UNC (who averages 5.7 yards per play) to 4.6 yards per play in regulation and 3.0 yards per play over the last three quarters. To put that in perspective, New Mexico was dead last in the NCAA, averaging 3.9. 5.7 is 35th in the nation, 4.6 is 105th. Adding that to what we've done to Kentucky and Ole Miss, and it looks like the defense has a lot to work with, but we absolutely have to be able to stop the two-minute offense, and we showed no ability to do that yesterday.

We also, quite obviously, need a running game to take some pressure off Bray and to salt things away late. Getting better on the ground and in the two-minute defense will turn the close losses into close wins.

The next thing we need is someone to take Gerald Jones' spot as a third down receiver. The man knows how to find the holes in the D and get the first down. Either Rogers, Arnett, or Dallas needs to step up and show some ability to do that, or else we're going to have a lot of trouble moving the ball consistently.

So, two-minute D, improved ground game, G. Jones 2.0. We gain those things and maintain in other areas, and we could be seriously good next year. If not. . . I'm guessing 7-5.

To have a better run game, one can say that we need a better RB. But one can equally say that we have to get better blocking for the run. Our inexperienced OL doesn't do that well. The last 4 games of the season was all pass blocking. Dooley would run the ball if we could.

Agreed. That's why I said ground game and not running back. But I expect that a year of work will do wonders for the offensive line--we had four freshmen and one sophomore in the top six in the rotation. Not sure I see similar improvement coming in the backfield unless we sign an elite talent.

I want UNC back on our schedule.

Had they not had all those players in trouble, they could have been a darn good team this season. Plus their DL coach left 2 weeks in. They probably would have trounced us. Just saying.
