You better be watching the ND v Clemson game right now. ND is currently up 7-0.

In regards to UGA, I believe Vols would have won that game with another quarter to play. They just didn’t play their game for the first 3 quarters. Something to note, UGA only scored 3 points in the 2nd half. I like our chances on a neutral site in the CFP.

Which brings me back to point A, turn on the Clemson game and pray.

Do we want Alabama to beat LSU or not?

There's a couple scenarios to this.
I think so. I’d think Bama over LsU but then lose to UGA in SECCG

Bama making it to the CG makes our win look better, however a loss to LSU removes them from the picture completely. So it’s really a toss up I guess.

I wonder if Bama and Georgia spent much time living vicariously through ND and other teams on their respective rises to the top

I can’t remember which year it was, but if memory serves there was an instance where an SEC team that didn’t make the SECCG made it in.

A ton would have to happen for us to make it in and it’s not gonna happen.
I think our chances of getting in are ok. We’ll get demolished worse than today and bore the heck out of some folks on New Year’s Eve or the title game vs UGA though

And fwiw, I do believe the committee would like to see a Vols/UGA rematch in the CFP.

Drama and ticket sales 🔥

Georgia's gonna be in even if they lose the SEC title game (unless, maybe, they get completely blown out by Bama or LSU but there's no way that's happening realistically), so yeah, we need Georgia to run the table, Clemson to lose, and IMHO for Ohio State to also run the table and beat Michigan. (our strength of schedule would put us ahead of a 1 loss Michigan or 1 loss Clemson, I would think.)

You absolutely do. Because GA will beat LSU and put both of them out of contention. We are in the playoffs if we win the next 3, it isn’t debatable

Clemson and TCU would have to lose. And don’t sleep on Oregon. Remember their only loss so far is to UGA.

I agree with the extra quarter stuff. We played WAY too emotional at the start. I don’t agree with Gary Danielson on practically anything, but he made a good point when he said a big time game like this was very new to our players and Georgia had a squad of kids who have played in games like these. We will be fine. Remember, some analysts said we’d be lucky to win 8 games .
