Since this is an open letter, and i'm supposed to be doing homework, I will edit this for you for funzies.

Dear Butch Jones,

As an over-reacting fan, I believe that your players do not give their all for UT. The offensive line is not as good as we were told they would be, and you should remove them from the starting lineup. Today was horrible for me to watch, and I am so glad that I gave up on my team before the game even started. I did this by giving my tickets to "clients," and decided I would not like to take my family to Neyland stadium. The football team that you inherited is very unattractive, I would know I follow of them on twitter and have rated all of them on a 1 to 10 scale. I hope that your recruits maintain committed to the University of Tennessee. In my professional opinion, i'm a professional because I have "clients," we should forego the opportunity to put our best players on the field. I know that this would more than likely cause us to not go to a bowl game, but I hurt so bad that I want to be irrational.

Came for homecoming with father-in-law who played at Auburn, embarrassed by the fans who left in the THIRD quarter.

This is not the Tennessee fan base I cheered with in the mid 2000's

I just want to know how you say the online sucked today we had 226 rush yards. I think the defense needs benched or a shock collar put on them to shock them while running to see if they will run faster or send them a box of 5 hr energy and some redbull.

Let me say this.... I have missed 4 games in 29 years. I have watched this program go from above average to top of the world and to where we are now. For 10 of those 29 years I traveled with the team and didn't miss a game home or away. I have been force fed changes I didn't want and some I didn't understand. All this season we have been force to listen to rap music instead of the band. I was told it pumps the kids up...helps with effort and attitude. Before the 2nd half kick off I watched our kids dance and jump around....only to go out and give half effort and a90 yard kr. I'm over the whole mess embarrassing mess. Give me all the excuses..i get it. But don't force me to listen to that crap...feed me $5 hot dogs $5 cokes..and give that piss poor effort.. Staff and players!

Holy crap, are you people serious??? We are not even through the first season yet and you are already screaming for the coaches heads??? Well, to be fair, some of you started after the So. Alabama WIN... You people are idiots, and that's probably being too complimentary. Let me see here, we have a freshman QB, freshmen WRs, freshman CB, who are the most productive players on this team, btw all brought in by CBJ. An oline that honestly hasn't been that good since they got here other than Jujuan James, our best LB hasn't played a snap, it's a brand new offense AND defense oh and we almost beat UGA and did beat SC. Every team that we have lost to has been a top 15 team, and you want to whine about the coaching staff, the same staff that currently has the #2 recruiting class. Idiots, and a disgrace to the fan base.

I'm not saying your not fans, obviously you are, I'm just saying you are the scum of the fan base. You are like the cousins no one wants to see pull up for Thanksgiving dinner, the ones you hide from in the store so you don't have to talk to. I'm not saying you have to throw a party because we got beat, but just be a little realistic please!

We need to teach the basics. Learn how to fricken tackle. What the f I have see high school teams that have a bettter defense. Four to five missed tackles on one play !!!! Embarassing. Special teams? Palardy is our best tackler. You are on the big leagues now Butch. I know you don't have your players but coach the ones you have. DEFENSE !!!!!!

i think that some of the people complaining about the fan base complaining are delusional. it's not that we are necessarily complaining about the fact that we lost. i think most people grounded in reality know that we are going to lose most games against a top 10 team. it's the fact that we don't look like we even belong on the same field with these teams.it's not about the losing, it's about losing spectacularly. let's be honest, the team that we have fielded for this season would struggle in the MAC, much less the SEC. "don't blame 18-22 year olds", OK. "don't blame the coach, he just got here", ok. Then who the heck is responsible? The awful fan base? That seems to be the sentiment by a lot on VN. Truth be told, college FB is about our coaches preparing our 18-22 year olds to take on yours. Our "18-22 year olds" are getting pushed around by thier "18-22 year olds" like toddlers on both sides of the ball. I do see flashes of brilliance in our O as a whole, but our D looks worse than I can ever remember. Our coaches play calling is stale as the chips in my couch. Butch has proven himself capable in the past of creating good teams. But so far, all i've seen him do well is recruit and speak well in front of a camera.

Amen. Butch needs to cull the deadwood both with the roster and the coaching staff, and be ruthless about it just like Saban.

Typical PANIC thread. A bunch of people who know nothing about the game and they can only rant and rave. Point being - YOU CANNOT COACH SPEED.

I understand we don't have the players or the speed but the lack of effort and the mistakes over and over again by the seniors should put them on the bench and I will never give up on my vols
My clients were happy they are auburn fans
And I would give tickets again to clients that spend the money they spend to morons that question me
