We need to get Coach Pittman back on the offensive line. He was brilliant. After a season in purgatory (Arkansas hell) he should be ready to come back to Kville.

Dude really!!! And your a fan? Bench the O-Line????? They rushed for 226 today. Why don't you meet me in section 117 section against Vandy to talk about it. And you wonder why recruits don't want to commit. We been set back for years with the last AD hiring LK and his 80K buy out. Then we begged DD to coach and he did not give a darn about the kids.... Now we have Butch who must look at getting our D- coordinator a pink slip. Coaches put players in position to make plays. Fans like you disappoint me. Give your tickets away to real fans dude.

Butch had a chance to retain Pitman. But chose to keep his central Michigan coaches who are nit ready for Big time football. But it's year one. Give Butch 2 years and we are back. Our seniors endured 3 coaches in 4 years. 3 different coaching styles and techniques. So kids are relearning.

I, like most, was a rabid fan since the 70's but as of late I have had my priorities changed for better or worst who knows. I love UT sports of any kind but a lot of you all act like there is no hope and that is what drives you. The next time UT gets beat and before posting anything on Vol Nation drive down to St. Judes and see the REAL WORLD. As once said by a Great Indian Chief but slightly altered," from where the sun stands in the sky, I will ***** no more forever". Thank you Vol Nation. just my 2 cents.

We will never get anywhere with fans like you consistently screaming for the coaches' heads.

Oline is terrible. Too many penalties. They need to learn the snap count, and tiny got raped on the edge today. We got really good rb's, that's why they ran for 226. They broke 20 tackles before crossing the line of scrimmage. I'll be glad when butch starts to get his players in. These jr's and sr's have been mind screwed by the previous staff. It's terrible. Dooley was the devil!

There are obviously more important things in life, but some of us have been raised since birth as die hard fans. When UT loses I'm gonna be mad for a really long time, and when they win I'm going to be elated all the way until the next weeks game. It's just one of those things.

So true. Will Butch still get it if Vandy stomps a mud hole in us too? Why cant this defense load up and stop the run when the team only throws the ball 7 times? The players were just flat out lost and they quit because they had no idea what they were doing and that gets frustrating...and yes that is coaching. Best coaching staff in America? Get real.

Agreed. And the easiest defense to plan or execute is when you know it is a run and our coaches could not find a way to stop it. That is very disheartening.

What amazes me is the blindness that some of our fans and MANY on this site have towards reality!

1. Our talent level is sub par in most all aspects of the team...especially in the skilled positions.

2. Our depth is non existent

3. New schemes and sub par speed.

4. Toughest schedule in the nation

...and yet some of you expect a miracle season. The trash talk in a true rebuilding year is amazing. I believe in this coach. I believe he is giving his HEART AND SOUL to this team and university! The previous 2 jokers destroyed what we had, and we have a long way to go to get back to the glory days we once enjoyed.

I'm sick of the hatred some have towards this team, players and coaches. GET A LIFE!

I am a grad of this fine University, I though I'm sick of the down times, I only see good things ahead with this staff. CBJ is building a strong foundation for the future.

Either be apart of it or don't, layoff the trash. We will succeed.

Tough game to watch yesterday. Auburn exposed our talent level is subpar to theirs. CBJ has inherited the worst situation ever for a coach. However; he will get this right, but it's not going to happen over night. Great recruiting class coming in next year, but face it he may need at least another before we see this ship turn. Patience is a virtue, but these days and times it's like a bad word that shouldn't be spoken.

Some basic technique was sorely missing yesterday. I was sitting in OO and the ends were not able to turn any runs in on the edges all day. I called two different touchdowns before the snap based on our alignment and I have never coached football! Our entire team was lined up inside their offensive line except for a cornerback on each side and the play went up the sideline almost untouched both plays. I was disappointed in the adjustment process. I have high hopes for the future but cautious about coaching because of some things I have seen lately.

...during recruiting.

It appears that the Kiffin/Dooley legacy is still on the field and we're forced to endure it. There are several players "waiting on the next level" before they truly contribute. UT is just a stepping stone to what they truly want - $. Winning is nice along the way, but not necessary.

I'm not saying all of these players have this attitude - but when "the best offensive line" in the country continues to under-perform in run blocking/ when a defense anchored by a guy who is 6'-8" and 350lbs+ gets pushed around, its pretty clear what is going on.
