Open or concealed carry in Tennessee without a permit

I've never really understood the appeal of open carry, but whatever. People can do what they want. I'll pass though.
Needless overcompensation that would immediately be reconciled in ironic Darwinistic fashion were the need to brandish the firearm ever arise I’d say 🤷‍♂️

It's open or concealed or did I read that wrong?

The guy that taught my HCP class is quoted in that article.... of course that was before I lost all my guns in a boating accident.
You too? Man, a bunch of us should file a class action lawsuit against those horrible boat companies😄

So dumb. Having the right to do something doesn’t negate having the common sense to know better.

Open carry = shoot me first.

The only place I've seen open carry work in TN is inside a gun store.

I had this discussion with a friend of mine who at the time had recently gotten a new gun and a carry permit. He intended on open carrying his gun and even had the outside holster and everything. He said that generally in public it elicits mixed reactions from others. I then suggested to him that the other downside to open carrying is that if an assailant walks into the store he's in that he's likely to be the first person the gunman is going to shoot.

I had an entire arsenal fall out of my boat when I hit a big houseboat wake. Since it wasn't an accident I never filed a report. Was that wrong?

I like that open carry is legal primarily so it's not a big deal if you're not fully concealed all the time. In some place you can get in trouble just for "printing", nevermind having your weapon openly revealed even inadvertently.

As a matter of actual intentional practice OC just strikes me as putting an X on you first in a tactical situation.
