I was at the game supporting our team till the end. After watching the beat down and 80% of the fans leaving right after halftime, what effect do you think it had on the top level recruits and commits here on visits? Do you think it made them realize that we need their help? Do you think it hurt us? How does CBJ address today to them? Thoughts?

I could have made that tackle, I could have caught that pass, I could have caught that guy, I could have pressured their QB, I would have made they guy miss, my chances of starting are looking great, just like Coach Jones told my parents and me...

Stuff like that.

If at all they realize they can come here and start.

The thing we can sell is early playing time, N.F.L. pipeline, huge fanbase, S.E.C., huge stadium, & t.v. exposure every Saturday.

Honestly, if I were a 5* or 4*, I could either go to Alabama, T.O.S.U., (The Ohio State University) L.S.U. etc. and practice hard every day, yet not play my freshman season. Then my sophomore season, I would be able to play special teams. My junior season, I would play special teams and play in games that are blow outs. Then finally, my senior season, I can start and get meaningful playing time.

Why would I want to practice and not see the field?

On the other hand, I can come to U.T., practice hard and play immediately. Either as a starter or as a 2nd stringer.......

Duh, I come to U.T......

It just goes to show what kind of recruits Dooley was recruiting. You watch the LSU/Bama game. Their DBs are at the line of scrimmage. Our DBs are 8 to 10 yard off the line. Butch will get the talent here. There was reasons recruits didn't want to come to Tenn to play for Dooley. It will change with Butch Jones. We will get the talent and speed to get back on top. You will see.

I don't blame them for leaving. I turned the tv off in the third quarter. Most of the fans went to see a ballgame not another ass whipping.

Go to Bama and sit on the bench for 2 years or come to UT and play immediately and be part of the rebuilding process where we will be competing for championships in 2 to 3 years

Damn right I drove 7 hours to watch us get thumped, at home, again. I left at halftime to go to the bar

I agree. I turned the tv off in the third as well and went out and enjoyed my day with my family. Only second time I have ever done that, including last years Kentucky game. Didn't even turn in the radio broadcast in the car.

Like freshman O.J. Howard at Bama? Oh yeah, he's playing. Like Yeldon? Oh yeah, he played. Want me to go on and on?

If you are a five star and good enough, you can play.

You are Tennessee. You hit on it. You want players who are scared of competition, and when you get them look at the product on the field.

Thanks for making that point. No wonder you can't beat Bama.

This game probably showed recruits that we need faster players and that they have a chance at getting some early playing time...... JMHO.

Made them feel/know they are better than most of our starters...I hope...

The really good players are type A personalities. I am sure many envisioned being on the field next year. As a starter! We want the kids who think they can play here next year.

How did they feel? One of two things:
1- I can play immediately here on this talent deprived team!
2- Why would I go to a school with such instability and poor performance the last 6 years?
