Opinions on the Spring Game

Didn't get the chane to see the scrimmage. So what did you guys think? Who looked good/bad/the same? Stuck down here in FL so I sure would appreciate any assessments of the Oline Dline and secondary. Check out my two favorite Volunteer Cheerleaders! Thanks Gary10ec1

Hold on and I'll try to dig up the Orange and White game thread. We actually have an online play by play that gives a pretty good indication of who played well.

Appreciate the effort. Nice group of Vols you guys have here. Seem to know their stuff as well. Will definitely be stoping by more often as season approaches. Gary10ec1

They show the replay on CSS if you get that down in Florida.

Overall, tough to assess the OL/DL's -- the defensive scheme was very simple and involved very little blitzing. Of course, all 3 top RB's were out. The QB's looked pretty sharp. Crompton definitely has an arm. There were (still) some dropped balls (arrrrggg....).

Cutcliffe mentioned UT reviewed all the spring games for all the new coaches in the league last year to prepare so they were very vanilla on offense and defense to prevent other SEC coaches from doing the same this year. When the defense is superior to the offense UT also plays a basic package with no blitzes to allow the offense to build some confidence.

Ainge looked good, but I will be glad when Crompton gets his chance.

I think he's going to be special.

I hope so, all Ive heard is how Crompton is gonna be great...I really hope so. What worries me is I rarely hear anything tangible about him....what can he do other than make folks think he can perform?
