Ordinarily I'm not too impressed with the CPF moves to strengthen the football program the past few years, with the exception of the ouster of the previous offensive coordinator. However, as I follow the recruiting efforts this year, specifically with the JUCO commits, I see holes on the team being plugged for the '07 football season.

The DB (Willingham) will play and possibly start next year and the WR (ONeal) kid will be another Anthony Miller IMO. If we can get a quality JUCO defensive lineman that can come in and play, I feel we will have a excellant shot next year of winning the SEC.

All of this reminds of the end of the 1989 year when UT brought in JUCO's Daffney and Chris Mims and won the league the next seasson, 1990.

You heard it first here!

You left out Chuck Smith and Dale Carter.

Dave Thomas was also in that group. Didn't do much at UT but had a lengthy NFL career.

Talk about an NFL career out of nowhere. The only career that surprised me more was Bill Bates.

I was in school then and had a number of classes with that JUCO group. The impression I got was that Majors took his frustrations with Mims, Carter, and Smith out on Thomas. He put him in the doghouse because he was the least talented of the bunch. He couldn't discipline that rest without compromising the team. Lacewell always liked the talent Thomas possessed, that's why he brought him to Dallas.

I was in school with them as well and I was a bartender at Ivy's where they partied all the time. I really like Smith and Mims, but Carter was always a problem. I bet we kicked him out at least 3 times a month and he stole a girls purse one time.

Your fate is in the Hillybillys hands!

The O line still needs to show up before I get too worked up. I have'nt been following recruitng barring the sporadic news releases....are we shoring the o line any?

Seldom does a freshman OL make any meaningful contributions to a a team. Also we haven't had a gread deal of sucess with JUCO olmen, other than Daffney.
