The list will change quite a bit over the next week but here's an early look from VQ...

Names and possible attendees are starting to trickle out for Orange Carpet Day, with most of the 2018 commits expected to be in town including California quarterback Adrian Martinez.

Top 2018 targets like offensive tackle Jerome Carvin, cornerback Jaycee Horn, tailbacks Lyn-J Dixon and Anthony Grant, tight end Tommy Tremble, linebacker Cam Jones (who continues to trend toward Tennessee but Notre Dame is recruiting him harder and harder each day and the Vols might best be suited to get Jones in the boat sooner rather than later) and defensive end Azeez Ojulari are all expected to be in attendance. Tennessee also hopes guys like defensive end Jordan Davis and wideout Antoine Green make it into town, too. Additionally, a number of 2019 priorities should be at Tennessee’s marquee event. Headliners include offensive tackle Jackson Lampley, defensive back commit Adonis Otey and wideout commit Cam Wynn, with the Vols hoping defensive end Joseph Anderson, wideout Trey Knox and defensive back Wesley Walker, among others, attend as well. Next week, we’ll have a much firmer grasp on who is or isn’t coming, with a OCD primer set for Saturday morning.

Wonder if Lampley goes ahead and commits that day? Wouldn't surprise me. Would like to see Litaker, Jones and one of those defensive ends at least get in the boat

Doesn't get anymore important than Horn and Ojulari, both impact guys at our biggest need spots. Ojulari is maybe the most important recruit on the board in the entire '18 class.

Agreed. What do you think about Dorian Gerald? I would love to see us get both him and Ojulari.

Kendrell Scurry not mentioned among the 2019 targets to attend. I'll be greatly disappointed if we lose out on this talented player.

The feeling has to be mutual and right now, even though it's early, it doesn't seem like he's on board. Sometimes recruits get attention and ego's are hard to manage. Not saying he has one, but attention and recognition can go to a teens head. Hopefully, he'll return to his original commitment.

I think he'd be a good pickup considering the need. Only interesting thing to me was on the VQ podcast the guys saying they think Gerald would have committed if the staff would have really pushed. Makes me wonder if they feel really good about some elite guys we just don't know about.

WRs are the furthest apart when it comes to their egos vs how important they are to a team.

Thanks for the info. I didn't get to listen to the podcast.

If Scurry or Sheffield were in the 2018 class, I might agree with the sense of urgency. Since they really liked Azzani, both reopening their recruitment was no surprise. But if these two are as good as some think they are, I hope one or both make it to the event. Even if they don't recommit right away, they get face time with the new WR coach.

However, if Kevin Beard is able to turn this year's receiving unit into a prolific group, that could make the right now a little less important. A position coach stroking egos is probably always going to be a big part of the process, but making the guys these HS kids will follow household names is a much bigger selling point. Especially if at least one of them is a true freshman.

Some names I didn't see mentioned, are these guys coming?

Litaker
Emerson
Master

According to some info RonSwanson hooked up in Litaker's thread, he is planning to be in Knoxville twice in the near future, once for a camp with a bunch of NPA guys and again for OCD. Also said a decision is nearing for him.

I think it's time to load the cannons, boys.
