A lil birdie who is close to Knoxville's Fire Chief told me that today in a meeting that they were discussing replacing the Engine and Ladder trucks that are at the station on campus (Station 9 on Highland Ave I believe--as they are due to be replaced soon), with ORANGE trucks instead of the traditional red. Said that they wanted to "represent the area that they served and show pride for the University and the Volunteers."

This would only be for the campus station. He said everyone liked the idea, but no timeframe was put on it.

I like it...but it's tough when our players don't even do that.

Bright Orange is a lot more noticeable than that fire engine red, safety wise it could be argued as a step up.

Im a firefighter in Knox county and ive also heard the rumors about a few stations getting orange engines and trucks. I personally like red ones just because its traditional but being the huge UT fan i am id love to see the engines and trucks that have campus in their first due go to orange..

If the police department adopts this idea, will the convicts then be forced to wear checkerboard jumpsuits?
