The rumored short list for the Oregon defensive coordinator job is Clancy Pendergast, Randy Shannon, or Todd Orlando.

Pendergast, former USC DC
Shannon, former Miami HC and current Arkansas LB coach
Orlando, current Utah State DC.

You guys know much about these guys? Looks like a decent list.

Thanks, I think it's a tough job to fill. Being DC on team with an offense that's going to leave to defense on the field most of the game has to be a tough challenge.

yes I agree that its hard for a DC to keep his defense fresh when you have such a fast paced Offense. He will have to get them in good condition for sure

Rumor Shannon was the guy once the job came open but they interview a couple of NFL guys after black Monday. Bobby P wants him at Lville. May get him now that Steele is stay at Bama. Hes worked with Hurtt before.

I sort of understand your concern about Pellum, but it's sort of classic Oregon, hiring from "within". I've always liked Pellum, he's a good coach. As DC, we'll have to wait and see.

Oregon has promoted from within since Brooks and they've been just fine, and will continue to be.
