LB's are a TBD for the Ducks this year. Big shoes to fill there. The similarities between this game and our game are interesting to me, weak FCS opponents. Their offense is similar, though we obviously do not have the speed of Mariota/Thomas. On the other hand, our OL has a potential advantage.
3rd quarter scores: Vols 45 - AP 0; Ore 45 - Nich 3. Difference: Oregon kept it's first string in for 3 quarters, we kept ours in on offense for 2 (and less on defense). They do not look invincible on offense like previous season openers (jmo).

I personally was not so impressed with Oregon's win. They looked rather lethargic. Could be the competition or first game jitters.
With our much heralded frosh RB Tyner coming in the mix I do believe our run game can continue with 3 or more 100 yard rushers.
The hope is Mariotta continues his accuracy which was quite good last year.
One of Kelly's great traits was adjusting during game time. It will be interesting to see how Helfrich does in that department. How many attempts on 4th down and/or 2pt conversions.
Maggitt should be back starting for Oregon. Our competitiveness against Oregon will depend heavily on our two new starters at LB (Brewer and Sapp).
I agree your game against Nicholls was not as great as the stats show - ran it up a bit in the 4th. Peay and Nicholls are both extremely weak teams. That being said, your depth is clearly much better than ours. For example, if we lose anyone in our back 7 on defense, we have serious issues.
I think our 1's will hang with you much better than expected. We will do everything we can to force Mariota to beat us with his arm.
Kelly's second half adjustments in 2010 against us were clearly effective.
