World Blog - Where does the term 'Day of Rage' come from?

The term appears to have been first used in the United States by the Weathermen, also known as the Weather Underground, a radical leftist, anti-government organization. The anti-Vietnam war organization planned several “days of rage” as an effort to “bring the war home.” Beginning on Oct. 8, 1969, a few hundred protesters ran through the well-heeled streets of Chicago’s Gold Coast smashing everything from cars to fancy shop windows. After four days of protests and repeated clashes with the police, 287 people were arrested. The Weathermen organization eventually petered out after the end of the Vietnam War.

I didn't realize the term petering out meant "to sit in a basement and plan a strategy with a young man from Harvard on how he will change the world once he is elected" but then again term meanings change all the time anymore.

If I could verify Rasputin's idea in two graphics, these would be those two:

The game plan, the post American world.

We have our shortcomings, no doubt but I really have never understood why these people hate America so much and I was far closer to them than you would guess back when all that happened, I object to Rasputin's original article when it states that the weathermen died out after the Vietnam war, they only changed their names etc.
