Stallone takes Best Supporting Actor, Leo take Best Lead Actor, The Revenant takes Best Picture, Brie Larson takes Best Lead Actress, Winslet takes Best Support Actress, McCarthy takes Best Director, Inside Out takes Best Animated.

After that, I don't really care that much but a bunch of other people win.

Main category-wise:

Best Supporting Actor- Sly Stallone
Best Supporting Actress- Alicia Vikander
Best Actor- Leo
Best Actress- Brie Larson
Animated Film- Inside Out
Adapted Screenplay- The Big Short
Original Screenplay- Spotlight
Best Director- Alejandro González Iñárritu
Best Picture- The Revenant

Mad Max and The Revenant gonna clean up a lot of the technical awards as well.

I'm not sure the rules, but a few years back they expanded the Best Picture noms from 5 to up to 10. Why not just expand the amount of noms for the Actor and Actress categories? Also I've always thought they should do like the Golden Globes and have Drama and Comedy/Musical split up which would increase noms, though they did screw up with The Martian being a Comedy.

agreed. not sure what the exact reasons are why they haven't, but I think it'd be great if they increased Best Actor/Actress/Supporting noms to around 8-10. there were several huge snubs in most of those categories that I felt at least deserved the recognition.

fine with keeping Best Picture the way it is. not sure i could even think of more than 3 comedy/musicals that deserved to be up for Oscar consideration this year. and that's with me including The Martian in there.

It's funny to think Sly is going to win for playing Rocky almost 40 years after the original was released.

The Martian IS funny.


Golden Globes had Wolf of Wallstreet as a comedy too.
