Fox Sports “loves noon games, while some/many fans who attend games do not. Who wins? Fox, of course. Money always wins.” It is “not just an OSU thing.” Two weeks ago, Penn State fans “took to social media to vent” about the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions kicking off at noon instead of in prime time. As the Big Ten’s primary rights holder, Fox gets first dibs in the “annual network draft that determines kick times, and always chooses Ohio State vs Michigan.” Fox, CBS and NBC then “take turns choosing teams,” and because Ohio State is a “top brand,” the Buckeyes often get picked by Fox for Big Noon Kickoff. This week’s OSU game at Northwestern is at noon on the Big Ten Network. As for next week’s noon game against Indiana, “were the Hoosiers 2-8 instead of 10-0, Fox would not have chosen the game” for its Big Noon Saturday. Originally, the Indiana game was “scheduled to appear on the Big Ten Network,” but as the season unfolded and the Hoosiers kept winning, Fox “swapped IU-OSU with Northwestern-OSU” and made the Buckeyes and Hoosiers their Big Noon Saturday game, while moving the Ohio State-Northwestern game to BTN.

Idk if it’s true or not but basically Fox took that time slot bc no one else wanted it. They also like you said got first pick. It screws recruiting up for them also bc a kid playing a high school game the night before has a helluva time making a noon kickoff to see an Ohio State game on an OV. Their idiot conference commissioner made that deal though.

Fox does not want to go up against SEC night games. Seems stupid but seems to be the reality. And they don't seem inclined except for maybe baseball to put sports on during prime time.

It is stupid. OSU Penn State would out draw almost every SEC game

I believe OSU added the stipulation in their normal TV contact that the have no night games the last month of the season. UT has been the biggest stage for other teams several times this year. I believe that UT was UGA’s first night game in over a year. I guess everyone loves them some UT.

I love me some Georgia bashing, but in all fairness-they played at least three night games this year before us. KY, Bama, and Texas I know for a fact. There may be others.

HMMM. I wonder, if UT beats OSU, and does so soundly, will we own Ohio recruiting? Would love to see it happen, and we poach some big OL and Dl guys from up there.

Anything with chain or slave imagery doesn’t typically go over well on the internet. You would think an institution of higher learning would know that.
Anyone who took offense to that, not saying you did, should do us all a favor and jump off the tallest building they can find

Doesn't really bother me but it will bother some. Probably better ways to say "thank goodness it is not a noon game".

Would depend upon the SEC game. If it is a marquee SEC matchup - I think the SEC wins.

I think there is also more marquee type games in the SEC - maybe that will change with Oregon in the mix but before pretty limited to a few Big 10 games that would draw national interest.

What Tennessee Defense is average at best? WHAT?!?!?!?!?

I think they are looking at our defense as the season progressed. We were not as effective late in the season as we were earlier. Kentucky exposed our defense and subsequent teams took advantage of that knowledge. Even Mississippi State effectively ran the ball against us.

Yes we are so bad OSU is just going to run all over us. We don't deserve to be in the playoffs because we are so bad. We just should give our spot to Bama or forfeit the game. Never mind that OSU lost to unranked Michigan or that Oregon and PSU looked like the worst defensive teams ever in their game - Tennessee is just a bad team and the SEC is terrible.

All I will say is GO VOLS! Beat the Buckeyes!

For those who have played the game, is it really that difficult to run a 'hurry up' offense mixed with passing in the cold weather?

Snow, rain and wet conditions I can understand - but a lot of receivers now wear gloves even when it is hot. I don't get how just the temperature matters. Like I said, wet conditions I understand.
