Here's the story from wwe.com:

Eddie Guerrero passes away
Oct. 13, 2005

WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero has passed away. He was found dead this morning in his hotel room in Minneapolis. Eddie is survived by his wife Vickie and his two daughters.

------------------------------------------

Eddie was always one of my favorite wrestlers. He had the total package of charisma, skill, and likeability. He was always a good babyface or a heel. I don't want to speculate on the cause of his death because this is neither the time nor the place but it's tragic nontheless. After watching the Cheating Death, Stealing Life DVD it makes it even harder to swallow. The current WWE Champ Batista is injured and it was expected Guerrero was to take the title tonight at the Smackdown taping. In his AAA Mexico days his partner, a very talented Art Barr, died of a drug overdose. RIP Eddie, hope you are frog splashing Rick Rude, Kerry Von Erich, Curt Henning, Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Louie Spicolli, Eddie Gilbert, Adrian Adonis, The British Bulldog, RW Hawk, Crash Holly, Ted Petty, Chris Adams, JYD, Art Barr, Terry Gordy, and Andre the Giant in that big squared circle in the sky.

You know, I post here rarely but read here alot. I've saw quite a few VN members with wrestlers as their avatars over the past few years. I don't care if it relates to VN or not I'm just putting it out there. I did put OT (off topic). Maybe it don't relate to Vol football but I'm sure there are some Vol football fans that like wrestling and feel the same way I do. Have a great day!

I'm sorry if I got a bit offended. I understand that there are other boards and I guess it could be moved to one of them. I just thought since it wasn't another sports discussion and actually dealing with the passing of someone it didn't hurt being in this forum especially since this is the forum on here with the most traffic. If I had been discussing wrestling in general I could see the argument. If it needs to be moved then move it. I didn't know posting it on this board would be a big deal.

Thanks

Post is fine where it is. Mods will move when appropriate.

Given the nature of their business it is a wonder that this doesn't happen once a month. Those guys have very dangerous lifestyles.

I am one of the very few "real" wrestling guys that actually watches and appreciates the fake stuff. I see it for what it is--a performance, and a good show. that's how I'll lead in to addressing what happened today.

God Bless you and your family, Eddie. You will be missed.

With that said, anyone who wants to REALLY find out what happens to people that use Steroids "a few years down the road" can look no further than "sports entertainment" (FYI: the reason it's called that is because Vince McMahon was forced to admit that it was fixed or else have to submit to drug testing). it's just plain Hard on your heart, and that combined with painkillers leads to Death. the list of performers that we all grew up watching that have Died in the past 5-10 years is Staggering. most all these guys were found in Hotel rooms on the road, of some sort of Heart Failure

These are right off the top of my head, I'm sure there's more:

Rick Rude
Curt Henning (Mr. Perfect)
Brian Pillman
Road Warrior Hawk
Owen Hart ( Died in an Accident, I know)
Davey Boy Smith (the British Bulldog)
Big Bossman
Pistol Pez Whatley
Terry Gordy
Eddie Gilbert

It goes on and on.....and until people realize what this stuff does to you, It's only gonna get worse.

EDIT: sorry, I posted before I read ALL of DD's post, so I realize he already said a lot of the names.

any one know the cause?

Here is what I found:

“It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard." - Vickie Guerrero, Eddie's widow

having what amounts to a car wreck happen to your body everynite for 15 years. i think that might have had something to do with it.
