Anyone see this? Seemed pretty crazy to me.
TCU QB was at least roughly in the pocket, so it could be called. But then he got hit right as he was releasing the ball, which could alter its trajectory. Intentional grounding got called anyway.
The thing is this: The official on the field turns on his mic to announce that there is no Intentional Grounding call on the play. Then Bob Stoops throws a little hissy-fit. He yelled and threw his headset down.
Then, after all that, the official who initially said No Call pulls his flag and throws it down. I thought he was going to call unsportsmanlike conduct on Stoops for making a fool of himself, but no. He decided after Stoops threw a fit he would call Intentional Grounding.
That bothered me a lot. Throw a fit, get your way. That wouldn't pass at my house. My four-year-old is being taught better.
