Ouch...UT Knoxville Among America's "Ugliest" campuses?

It is like an ugly woman at 2 am, you know it is not much to look at but you still do it. The Hill is like the beauty standing in the corner near the jukebox.

I stated it in an earlier post, but I wish there was a way to make the buildings "match" Ayres' exterior. Would look great IMO.

UT needs more of this:

I wouldn't disagree. Many sidewalks are horrendously old and cracked, it's always under construction, and it really is concrete everywhere.

When they said it doubles as a skatepark, they were right. My friends and I skate a ton of stuff on campus all the time haha.

Dang, I remember back in '87 I thought the new library was pretty cool actually :(

Yeah I bet those midwest schools look real good in the dead of winter.

We need to use Cambridge, UK as a benchmark for future buildings/mods.

Who cares what the campus looks like. We have one of the greatest athletic facilities in the country. :)

The buildings look bad but honestly Neyland is a huge offender. Yes on the inside she has a special beauty but on the outside it's rusted and crappy looking with South Stadium Hall literally decaying under it. Not to mention the old engineering building. Brick it all in or at least slap a new coat of paint on.

Good grief. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The opinion of some puke reporter means absolutely nothing except they have a big megaphone that they can blast their worthless opinions to all who will listen. Who cares what they think.

I think it'll get better. But our situation is different than many other schools. Knoxville the city isn't that pretty to begin with. Many other colleges are in the middle of nowhere which has to help right?

I really don't think it's that bad...although I will say some of the buildings could be updated, but overall I think the campus is nice.

Nobody, I think, wants "castles" but having more of what we see on the Hill would help volumes.

I've been saying all this for years. I thought all campuses were like this until I visited Bama, Auburn, and Ole Miss. I'll always be a Vol fan, but I'm not going to lie and say that our stadium and campus are better than anyone's I have seen. Yes, some stadiums are much smaller, but do they have pipes leaking, rusted out beams, patched/cracked/oil stained walkways, and decrepit buildings under them? Nope. Take a walk from the quad over tho Bryant-Denny on gameday then tell me our campus is better. They have more frat houses that look better than our whole campus, not to mention their actual academic buildings. And don't even get me started on the strip... Lol sorry I sound like a stickler but it sucks bringing my friends from Alabama and Mississippi up here for games. Id never cheer for another team so I'll just keep walking up busted steps on the hill and keep my mouth shut. Haha (sorry for the rant)
