I don’t ever remember Ga Tech being really good.

They won the natty in 1990. Shared with Colorado. Colorado had a game where they got 5 downs at the end of a game to win, so there has always been a controversy.

GT also had some pretty good teams in the late 90s when George O'Leary was their coach. Had a QB named Joe Webb (I think?) who was just unbelievable.

I remember Reggie Ball, not sure who was before him.

You nailed it. Of course those Bobby Dodd teams were excellent before he took them out of the SEC.

I don’t care what anybody says, Notre Dame should be on that list.

Joe Hamilton . . . and yes, he was pretty dynamic.

That would be former Tennessee starting QB - A.J. Suggs.

Yeah, Georgia retired his jersey.
Yes . . . He had a very Joe Milton-esque moment.

Yup. That was well before my time. I did grow up with one of Dodds granddaughters though so was well versed before I started school there

Also, thank you to the person who corrected my failing memory re:Joe Hamilton. Now, I just need to figure out who Joe Webb was !

Meh. Reddit’s CFB Twitter is run by a Vandy fan. So if you remember that program being relevant, you have been dead for at least 20 years.

Joe Hamilton. Dude was like 5'9" but was a straight baller. The year we won the natty I think was his senior year. I believe they were 10-2. Beat the Dwags.

I remember watching Reggie Ball throw a ball out of bounds on 4th down against Georgia to end the game. I wanted to whoop his butt🤣. At least take a shot to the end zone! He was about to get hit, and just threw it away.
