Pretty much, they are a bunch of patty cakes. Don't meant to bash them, but it is just the truth. They look good in uniform, and NFL scouts salivate over them. But when it comes time to make a yard, it is not going to happen. In other words, they are not "man" enough.

You should be man enough and tell them that in person.

there have been times this year that we have failed to get short yardage. Hard to know if OL, TE or runner issues. Probably all of them were the problem at one time or the other.

One positive note, with average SEC running backs the line has been good enough to get the rushing numbers over 2000 yards for only the 5th time in the last 20 seasons.

those seasons include some elite stud running backs..

They're collectively the worst group we've had in years. Op, stand your ground. Cause you're right..

The walk on sullins twins almost help us beat bammers ass, weighing around 270 or so.. I can't wait for this overrated group to be gone!

I like how our QB play is horrendus yet they still manage to have good numbers rushing the football. Teams know there's no pass plays on short yardage situation - it's run or bust. They load the box and end up 7 or 8 on 5 or 6 and yet for some reason, the majority of Volnation whines that they can't outplay themselves for the rest of the team struggling.

That's like complaining about Manning for throwing a late pick in the playoffs back in his days when the Colts had a bad defense and he had to win most games by himself.

I guess some people just don't really understand football.

Our o line has been good, not great. We seemed to be on a pretty decent trajectory after the USCe game. The WR's are talented but very young and still learning. Most importantly, QB play has been the glaring weakness in our offense this year. It took Worley half of the season before things started coming together for him, then he gets hurt. The offense hasn't been the same since.

O-line just has not played to expectations for several years. Seems some talent was there, especially this year, so yes, coaching is a major issue. But Butch is supposed to have that angle fixed.

you are very wrong, this is all o-line coaching. this line was built for bray and pocket passing. new coaching style .... you do the math.

Pretty much disappointing...but for whatever reason i can see both lines having a why not all season preformance against Kentucky...not because it's Kentucky but rather a final this is the last 117 kind of day...I may be wrong of course due to the nature of college football but i see a large margin victory in this final game

You have a point--that our O line is not as good as advertised--that is worthy of debate. However, your way of expressing your point of view is juvenile.

If you think our O line is not doing the job, tell why you think that way. Call them out on their technique. Say they are physically not up to the task. Call into question their work habits. But you don't do any of that...you question their manhood. That is simply a personal attack against them, a personal attack on a group of late teen/early 20 year olds.

Are they giving 100%? Because, if they are, then you can't ask for more. Maybe, just maybe, they've been overrated, and they are doing as good as they are physically able. If so, you have no right to criticize the young men.

Don't act like a moron and personally attack some college-aged kids. If you have a complaint, express it without personally attacking them...IF you have the mental capacity and the football knowledge to do so.

If you don't, then keep your pie hole shut. It cheapens your opinion when you personally attack the team...and I will defend them every day against personal, cheap-shot attacks like yours.

I think our O lines problem stems from lack of aggressiveness. We just don't have any guys on the line with that mean streak that makes players great. Have you ever seen one of our lineman running down field and lay someone out who's standing around before the back goes down? How many times have you seen one of our lineman into it with the d lineman ? That's why we can't get one yard to win the game. We don't have anyone that will fire off the line hit their man in the mouth and drive him into the dirt. We need some lineman that are nasty and don't mind fighting it out in the trenches.

Never lived up to its billing. They've had what 3 position coaches or is it 4? Could have a little something to do with it. Either way it's about time to close the book on this Oline at Tennessee. Hope they all go on to have stellar careers in the NFL. Maybe they'll get the right coaching there.

There it is. You're not permitted to critique someone unless you're "man enough" to say it to their face. I forgot how our football players were savage inmates that would murder you for looking at them wrong
