Our President has time to coach girls' basketball?

Now, I'm no Obama basher (I think gsvol has called me an "Obamabot" on numerous occasions)... but this is disturbing. How the hell does he have time to help coach his daughter's basketball team... when she isn't even THERE. What, is he BORED? He's the "Leader of the Free World," and he's spending time coaching children's basketball.

Maybe I'm in the wrong, but that seems outrageous to me. He should be analyzing, researching, strategizing, etc. over any number of issues, be they international, military, economic, domestic, environmental, or WHATEVER. Holy crap.

How is this any different from playing golf?

I highly doubt he is heavily involved.

I can go bump threads about vacation time and golf regarding the previous administration, if you'd like.

I would hope he isn't. That just takes a lot of time, and I don't see how he has it.

I read the article to mean he stepped in to help coach the team during a Saturday game because one of the other coaches could not be there.

White House officials said Obama helped coach 9-year-old Sasha's team Saturday in suburban Maryland because a regular parent-coach was unable to attend.

Based on my own experience helping to coach my daughter's softball team during a game when one of the other coaches couldn't show, I would say he might not have put in hours of prep work to help.

I think the Swedish president gets six weeks vacation or more per year.

I should think most of the HusseinHeads on here would appreciate him coaching basketball vice governing.

The media tends to give a lot of undeserved (And deserved) credit to those who hold a seat of power in the Oval Office.

I could assume this is no different, and is an exaggeration.

No. My buddy is hanging out with his brother and parents in the same hotel up there, though. He said it's really annoying how they shut hallways and elevators down whenever they are moving them around, and that they have like a 50 man security detail.

I'm not much of a celebrity chaser.

Eh, no biggie. I really wouldn't even care if he coached one of his girls' teams all season.

Big question is if they won or lost. My guess is an L since they won't release the score.

I didn't complain when he went to the ranch 80 bazillion times and for a heckuva lot longer than whatever time this little endeavor will last. People who did sounded as idiotic as the OP criticizing Obama for this.
