I welcome any corrections.

Essentially we are almost done with the class. We sit at 25 commitments with two wavering(Stanley, Copeland). If Stanley goes we probably offer Crump. If Copeland goes we offer McNeil. Glass is a potential replacement for Stone if we don't get him, and any of the three above could be offered to fill out the class depending on how optimistic we are with grades.

For the other open spots we appear to have three or four viable options. The big OT from Mississippi lists us but without visiting I doubt that is viable. Ambles and Rogers both appear to be legitimate possibilities, as does Stone. Aside from those three I see no real chance among any of our other targets.

So basically, there isn't a lot of intrigue left for us. Try to hold on to what we have, and see which of the three possibles becomes a definite.

If I missed anything, I'd love to hear it. Just trying to tie everything together.

I think Glass has us high on his list and I like we are sitting pretty good with Rogers. I also think we get stone on NSD. I am looking forward to see who we really end up with. I can see us pulling someone that noone knows about.

You have got it. Ambles, Stone, Da'Rick, and Robinson...we have plan B guys I believe though.

Updated it to include Glass, but I have a hard time believing he or Robinson will commit sight unseen. I guess it's possible though. With it being a dead period how would we notify the backup plans on Wednesday that "psst, we missed our guys you can come now"?

I hear Ralph Williams is gone. For sure. He isn't even as highly rated as Propst, though, so 6 one, half dozen other.
I have heard positive things about Copeland. I wouldn't discount him yet.
I'm worried Stanley has fallen for X & O's BS.
If we offer Glass, he's ours. He's high on UT.

Here's what I have read and understand about Glass..he has always liked UT and wanted to be here, the previous regime didn't pay him any attention. With the coaching change and all he still WANTS to be here. Now tell me, what is easier to coach, a 5-star prima-donna who is all about himself, or a 3-star who is all about the team? I think it speaks volumes about how Glass has stuck with his interest in us through the melee that has been the past 3 weeks. We NEED him I think, just my opinion, more than we need two more receivers. One more receiver and an OL would do us far more good than 2 receivers and no one to block for the QB who's trying to get them the ball. As for NSD, we can sign them after that day no problem, it's just a symbolic day more than anything and for all of the attention-seekers to have their 15 minutes. I think we'll see the scenario shake out on NSD where we'll have spots for those we want and someone might be left out, hate that it might happen, but that's the nature of the business.

I believe the two that are unsure are Williams and Copeland. I haven't heard anything about Stanley being on the fence. Also, it sounds like we may still have a good shot with Copeland from what I read last night on his post. Time will tell.

GBO!!!!

I think there will certainly be a surprise commit on Wednesday. I would not be surprised if by the end of the day we know who our DC is.

I would also not be surprised if our DC is a guy with a good relationship with our surprise recruit...

It's interesting how much more stable this class seems going into NSD compared to last year's. Honestly, there are 2 to 3 current recruits that seem to be on the fence and then 4 or 5 big uncommitted big names that UT has a shot at.

Compared to last year's NSD where everything seemed wide open that's pretty amazing.

Of course, there could still be some surprises where UT loses a commit or lands a guy that we all thought was out of it.

I seen in a rivals article that Mike Farell seems to think that USC could pull Stanley away from us.

I think we close with Stone, Crump and one of Ambles/Rogers but not both.

We get Stone. I think we get Ambles and Rogers both. The rest will be OL possibly 1 DT. I cannot see Crump unless we miss on a few other guys.

Dooley's at the helm. Here's to the Vols closing the 2010 recruiting season with some good news and momentum. With the rough seas last few weeks, I am emotionally worn down. Someone tie me to the mast!!

I agree, and amazingly, its more of a roller coaster with CDD since there's very little info coming out, and so much speculation.

I don't see how I can follow recruiting next year, its been so much of a drain on me.

Then again, I don't see how I can stay away.

Whatever we get, we desperately need another DT and OL.

I think you can pretty much surmise we are shifting to the 3-4. In doing that we essentially double our tackle to need ratio which explains our lack of focus on the DT position. I agree we could use OLs but with the defensive shift we need LBs and DBs.

Our dlinemen are completely wrong for a 3-4 and so are our linebackers. May switch in years to come, can't now. Personnel is completely different.

With all do respect. You don't pass on DR or MA type guys. Period. And to your "point" yes you want guys to buy in, but you sell that in spring, summer, and camp. There are thousands, yes thousands of kids with the "desire" or heart to play at UT (any other school) I get what your saying and it sounds all good and nice or w/e but you don't turn away Elite talent. What have they done to be labeled prima donnas? If you were a freakish athlete in 2010 you'd enjoy the attention as well, don't play.

The focus in this recruiting class suggests the attempt will come sooner than you say.

I do see the change possibly coming in the recruits, but my point is that it isn't happening this year or probably next. Short of some real suprises, inthink we are two years away. Jmo. Your right, you can see it in the tweeners we are looking at. Bigger lbs. But I don't see the dtackles needed or the bigger ends.
