Officially, we are now 2nd on the NCAA stats, which are based solely on win percentage of opponents. Ranks and win % of opponents:

1 Purdue 0.743
2. Tennessee 0.724
3. Utah 0.724
4. Georgia 0.714

Of course, we know that the rankings of our opponents were much higher than those of Purdue and Utah, but Uga comes kind of close. They played all the same East foes as us (except we played them and they played us, lol), but sub LSU for bammer and Clemson for Oregon and the schedules are pretty much identical. Ga Tech is probably tougher than SOLA or WKU, but that's a nit.

Anyway maybe it wasn't just the injuries with Uga but also the schedule.

Another way of thinking about it....the West comes down to the Iron Bowl between a resurgent Auburn and bammer. We had to play both those teams....:banghead2:

This is one of the toughest schedules in the history of college football, no doubt.

Meyer is about to go undefeated again and likely miss the NCG. The morale here is shaky. Just goes to show you how important scheduling is to how you are preceived as a team.

I am so sick of hearing about our schedule.. It was three gimme's ,Oregon and the rest was all SEC. If you don't want to compete in the SEC get a petition going to join the ACC or Big East

As far as ranking the schedules it really boils down to the cupcakes (are they ranked in the 80's, 90's, or higher). The SEC schedule is what it is. Look at UGA...on paper their SOS may wind up being greater than UT's based on the OOC games. In reality, UT has played one of the toughest schedules I can ever recall.

here's an easier solution for you, just don't read the posts. that way you won't get sick and we won't have to read your silly rants

Not ranting just tired of folks like you crying about it . It's an SEC schedule with a very good Oregon team thrown in . Just play it and quit whining ...

Whose crying? Not me nor the OP. Their just stating the obvious about UT's schedule. Your doing the only complaining.

Look Dumb S--t! New coaches, a lot of new players, new coordinators, new strength coaches, new offensive and defensive systems, lost Couch, Magitt and a few others before season, huge graduation losses and overall lack of speed and talent(which we were all aware of). That should be plenty to justify this season and possibly the next if you consider the season a disappointment! The goals set before season are still in place, had the big upset we all wanted and almost had another, still bowl eligible and making progress with recruiting and overall coaching! So we won't mention the 2nd most difficult schedule in the Country if it makes you feel better!!!! GOVOLS!!!!

And the timing couldn't have been worse due to the state of our program.

It still floors me that we played ms state last year when they had their best team in 15 years and Auburn goes 0fer in the sec. Then we turn around this year and play the same 0fer Auburn team who is having a dream season while state is back to its usual self.

Not to mention Missouri, who hasn't had alot of success in several years, joins the east and is a powerhouse. No luck with our coaches the last few years as well as our schedules. Ohhhhh and next year we play Oklahoma. Mmmm mmmm mmmm

I don't like it any better than you, just smart enough to see the problems this program faces!!!! You can call them excuses, but I prefer to call them reasons! So FO :finger3:!!! GO VOLS!

Dang Soda.... Not worth fighting over. I think the reason people get so disjointed on these pages is because UT has been really bad for several years and although we are all looking for someone who can turn this thing around, There is a small segment of folks like yourself that see each coaching change as a continuum rather than a point where we are basically starting over. Because of that your expectation is immediate success. Well.... That's just not gonna happen. In three years when CBJ gets done with getting his players in here and does the things that we all hope he can, people won't be bringing up the things you see as excuses. Maybe you should try and hit the reset button and accept that we are at ground zero (not year zero) and give these guys a chance to do their thing. At any rate try not to get so angry about it.:peace2:
