Officially, we are now 2nd on the NCAA stats, which are based solely on win percentage of opponents. Ranks and win % of opponents:
1 Purdue 0.743
2. Tennessee 0.724
3. Utah 0.724
4. Georgia 0.714
Of course, we know that the rankings of our opponents were much higher than those of Purdue and Utah, but Uga comes kind of close. They played all the same East foes as us (except we played them and they played us, lol), but sub LSU for bammer and Clemson for Oregon and the schedules are pretty much identical. Ga Tech is probably tougher than SOLA or WKU, but that's a nit.
Anyway maybe it wasn't just the injuries with Uga but also the schedule.
Another way of thinking about it....the West comes down to the Iron Bowl between a resurgent Auburn and bammer. We had to play both those teams....:banghead2:
This is one of the toughest schedules in the history of college football, no doubt.
