Who is your most overrated?

Mine is Nolan with the exception of Memento.

Inception was garbage, he ruined the final Batman.

I don't think he lacks tslent just feel he isn't that amazing.

Y'all are crazy.

James Cameron. He's a respected version of Michael Bay.

Nolan and Tarantino are both great.

Seconded.

Memento alone is enough for Nolan and The Prestige was fantastic, as well. Not to mention any of the Batman movies. Tarantino is a better writer than he is a director. But he is still a better director than most and gets the best from his actors every time.

I don't get how Nolan ruined the final Batman when it's easily better than the 5 non-Nolan Batmans.

It just wasn't the Dark Knight. The bar was set pretty high.

Right, so because he made the best comic-adapted movie ever and the follow-up wasn't as good, he's overrated. Makes sense.

There are plenty of overrated directors. The OP just failed to mention them. Peter Berg comes to mind. I'm sure I can think of a few more..

Yeah, it's all a matter of opinion. I still think James Cameron is a good director, but just overrated.

I hated the writing in the Prestige, but the directing was so good I still found it enjoyable. That's where I really earned respect for Nolan.

Tim Burton jumps to mind immediately. I feel he misses more than he hits.

I read a good article on Cracked that talked about him and Depp working together too much. They're so chummy they don't tell each other when they have bad ideas.

Well you would have to assume I agree with your premise, which I don't . The dark knight had a great performance but as a movie was nothing special.

What doesn't make sense is a 30 something year old man that wears fedoras and posts a picture of himself in a fedora on the internet.

That doesn't make sense.

?

But I do wear a fedora (beach kind, not dress kind) and I am 30 something. What's wrong with that?

I think Nolan is a fine director but nothing he has ever done (besides Memento) has ever really resonated with me. I am definitely a fan of The Prestige, BB, and TDK, though. He's overrated in the vein that he should never be mentioned in the same echelon as Scorsese or Kubrick.
