It's an ESPN piece about preseason playoff contenders that are overhyped by ESPN itself. Offseason articles at this point are just the dog chasing its tail.

It's saying the following teams are overrated contenders:

ACC: Florida State

Big 12: Oklahoma

Big Ten: Michigan

SEC: LSU

Pac 12: Stanford

Every team in the top 10-15 is overrated at this point, including TN. That's especially true considering everything is being determined by just looking at a piece of paper for every team. I'll wait until about week 5 or 6 before acknowledging anything or coming up with a opinion of my own about teams.

I agree with FSU, but the others are legit imo

I'm not so sure Michigan is a legit contender, they're close though. But IMO, they are just slightly sitting on the outside and looking in. The same goes for LSU unless at the very least they miraculously find at competent QB, and thus an average passing game against top competition.

In my eyes FSU is closer than either LSU or Michigan. They probably have an easier schedule than the two previous teams I mentioned as well.

How can Florida State and Michigan be overrated when they play in a 2 team conference? By default they're contenders even if they would get killed by a team like Alabama.

I agree on Stanford. They're not an elite team and there is a lot of parity in the Pac 12 that I could see them getting shut out. Same with Oklahoma.

The only potentially overrated team on there is LSU. They play in the toughest division, have to beat the defending national champ just to make the playoffs, and have serious questions at the most important position.

Then where's the fun?

I think some of you dont understand the meaning of the word PREDICTION.

i believe that how much a team weighs is not relevant, unless they are extremely overweight and then i'd look at each position and train these fat boys properly!
just my $ .02

FSU has 6 legit games this season IMO....OleMiss, Louisville, North Carolina, Miami, Clemson and Florida.

No. They steam roll everyone on that list except Clemson and possibly Ole Miss and Florida. But I still have them as clear favorites over Ole Miss and Florida.
