Here's the first trailer for Oz The Great and Powerful. It's a prequel of the Wizard of Oz. Doesn't look too bad.

The Emerald City is a farce...green shaded glasses made everything appear green...the illusion of fiat money.

Just saw a clip on Leno.

Ehhhhh I'll wait for it on DVD. The clip really made me not want to see it.

I had a college professor who taught american history from the 1860's to the 1910's using the Wizard of Oz as an allegory. it was some pretty good stuff to be honest.

I read this is the first of NINE Oz adaptations headed to theaters. I'm unclear if they are part of a single series or if different studios are making various versions.

I wonder when we get to Dorothy, who will play her? Emma Stone?

I just don't think James Franco is a good fit here. I haven't seen it, and maybe when I do I'll change my mind, but to me, he's not this kind of actor. He makes me uncomfortable in the trailers. Anyone seen this?

there is also a scene where one of the set riggers is killed while filming is taking place, if you pay attention, you will see him hang himself

I always thought that was an urban legend. Kind of like the ghost boy behind the curtain in Threemen and a Baby.

For those interested I just noticed there is a Temple Run: Oz game that was just released for iOS and Android. Graphics look nice but I don't want to pay for another endless runner when so many other ones (including the original Teme Run) is free.

Saw the movie today in 3D. It wasn't half bad and I'm no fan of any of the actors in it either.

Franco was horrible...but I thought Mila did a good job, made her character believable....the visual effects were amazing in 3D but some scenes almost made me a little sick....the waterfall scene esp...I think we were sitting too close though..
